  • Publication number: 20120070018
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for reduced microphone handling noise are disclosed. In one example, a microphone system includes a microphone to output a microphone output signal and a sensor adapted to output a sensor signal indicating whether the sensor is in proximity to or touching a user finger. A processor is adapted to process the microphone output signal using touch mode signal processing responsive to a determination the sensor is in proximity to or touching the user finger.

  • Publication number: 20090010246
Abstract: A multimode home telephone system includes a computer, a base unit, a wireless handset and a wireless headset. The computer is programmed with a “soft phone” program to make and receive VOIP calls via the Internet and couple them to and from the base through a USB connection. The base is also coupled to a public switched telephone network (PSTN) and is operable to effect full duplex communication via both the PSTN and the Internet. The base, in turn, is wirelessly coupled to the handset via the DECT/UPCS protocol, and the handset is wirelessly coupled to the headset via the Bluetooth protocol, such that the user can selectively place and receive telephone calls via any one of the Internet, the PSTN or an optional Bluetooth enabled cell phone. Optionally, a DECT/UPCS enabled headset can communicate directly with the base in addition to or in lieu of the Bluetooth enabled headset.

  • Patent number: 7139405
Abstract: The present invention provides a communications headset. The communications headset includes an earbud with a speaker to be disposed near the ear of a headset user, a microphone, and an electrical connector designed to couple with a communications device. An electrical cord is coupled between the earbud and the electrical connector. A spring cord is coupled between the earbud and the microphone. The microphone is capable of bidirectional movement with associated extension and retraction of the spring cord.

  • Patent number: 7130434
Abstract: The present invention provides a solution to the needs described above through a microphone PCB with an integrated filter. The invention provides for an electret microphone assembly. The microphone assembly includes a multilayer printed circuit board. A field effect transistor with a gate is coupled to the electret microphone. The field effect transistor drain is coupled to provide audio frequency output to an audio output node, and the field effect transistor source is coupled to a ground. A first end of a resistor is coupled to the drain of the field effect transistor and the second end is coupled to a filter. The filter attenuates unwanted electromagnetic interference associated with a radio frequency transmitter.

  • Patent number: 7052281
Abstract: Cable winding devices and mechanisms for providing direct cable to electrical component connections without brush contacts are disclosed. Electronic controls may be provided directly on the cable winding device. The cable winding device generally includes two cable segments physically disconnected from each other, a spool configured for winding the cable segments thereon, and a circuit component such as a printed circuit board assembly that rotates with the spool. The circuit component may include electrical contacts to electronically connect corresponding pairs of wires of the cable segments and a user-adjustable or user-actuatable electronic control in communication with the electrical contacts. The circuit component may provide a pair of electrical contacts for each corresponding pair of wires in the cable segments and the electronic control is in communication with at least one pair of the electrical contacts.
