  • Publication number: 20030189363
Abstract: A releasably attachable cushion that can be used with chair armrests, seat armrests, and other types of support structures, to provide extra cushion support for the user's arm. The cushion has a cushioning layer that is enclosed in the outer covering. A skirt with a tightening strap is extends below the outer covering. The tightening strap allows a user to adjust and securely apply the cushion to armrests of various shapes and sizes without unduly compressing the cushioning layer.

  • Patent number: 6578914
Abstract: A releasably attachable cushion that can be used with chair armrests, seat armrests, and other types of support structures, to provide extra cushion support for the user's arm. In one embodiment, the cushion has an outer covering and a multi-layer inner structure. The multi-layer inner structure includes at least two layers: a cushion layer and a support layer with the cushion and support layers being enclosed in the outer covering. The support layer is thinner and made of harder material than the cushion layer. In an alternate embodiment, the cushion has an outer covering, a cushion, and a skirt attached to the outer covering. The cushion is enclosed in the outer covering and the skirt has a tightening means so that a user can adjust the tightening means in order to securely apply the cushion of the invention to armrests of various shapes and sizes.

  • Patent number: 6575431
Abstract: A weir-type diaphragm valve having a valve body, a flexible diaphragm and a valve stem. The valve body has an inlet end, an outlet end and an internal flow path disposed between the inlet end and the outlet end. Within the valve body is a weir disposed transverse to the flow path. Along the top edge of the weir is disposed a raised bead extending substantially along the entire length of the top edge of the weir. The flexible diaphragm is disposed above the valve seat. The diaphragm is flexible between a closed diaphragm position wherein the diaphragm is in tight abutment with the valve seat (so that the valve path is sealed closed) and an open diaphragm position wherein the diaphragm is spaced apart from the valve seat (so that the valve path is open). The valve stem and handle assembly is adapted to alternatively flex the diaphragm between the closed diaphragm position and the open diaphragm position.
