    Abstract: A collar useful in animal care, which includes a closure connector and a flexible belt having a free end and distal therefrom a thickened knob. Anchored within the connector's frame, the knob is disposed contiguous with a narrow slot formed therein through which all of the belt, except the knob, is initially threaded. Once looped back around the connector's frame, the free end is pushed through the frame until it re-emerges therefrom. With the collar adjusted to provide a snug fit, one can then activate a closure mechanism, in which the foot of an arm pivotally connected to the frame clamps a short portion of the belt, across its entire transverse width, against the frame. When the belt is so clamped, pulling on it increases forces pressing the foot against the belt. Cast from a silicon rubber/phosphorescent additive mixture, the belt exhibits luminescent properties, making it visible in the dark.

    Abstract: An apparatus for pumping and compressing fluids using floats which ride on the tides, swells and waves of the sea lowering an impeller by gravity when the tide falls and discharging fluid through back flow prevention valves above impeller when sea level rises for any reason. Pump will deliver sea water at any selected pressure determined by buoyancy of floats. Increasing buoyancy increases discharge pressure or lift or volume. Sea water pump is open to sea on inlet side when pumping sea water. Sea water seeks its own level rising to sea surface through impeller and back flow prevention valve. When pumping other fluids, pump is not open to sea and connects to fluid sources of supply. The pump is modified to prevent leakage to sea when pumping all other fluids. Fluid volume lift is increased by adding tidal range multipliers to pump and increasing float buoyancy making it possible to deliver greater volumes of fluids each time tide rises.

    Abstract: A combing device to facilitate de-matting or untangling of animal hair comprises a pair of combs, a handle unit and a switch. The handle unit comprises an internal energy conduit device through which energy or force can be caused to flow and effectuate a forceful movement of at least one of the combs. In operation, a user places the pair of combs in or near the area of an animal's matted hair and controls the switch to repeatedly cause one of the combs to forcefully move forward and then back, thereby generating repeatedly strong combing actions.

    Abstract: An apparatus in which the heat for blow drying a dog's hair is generated from the cooling of a motor and from fluid friction due to air being forced through passageways within the apparatus. The apparatus includes an enclosure and at least one blower motor combination such as the type used in vacuum cleaners. The blower forces air through the motor where the air is heated and then discharged into a pressurized section of the enclosure. Part of this air is then recirculated back to the blower inlet and the rest is discharged through an air hose that is used to dry the animal. A bypass valve is provided to adjust the fraction of the air that is recirculated. Controls are also provided to regulate the amount of fresh air that enters the enclosure and to vary the rotational speed of the blower motor. With proper adjustment of these controls, a very efficient pet hair drier cycle can be achieved.
