  • Patent number: 7261189
Abstract: A braking system of a rail vehicle includes a parking brake device having a gearing. The gearing converts a rotating movement initiated by rotation-actuating devices into an application of movement of at least one pressure-medium-operated cylinder piston drive. Also, included is at least one universal-joint shaft connecting the rotation-actuating devices with a gearing input of the gearing. The gearing input is disposed in the direct vicinity of the at least one piston cylinder drive and is connected to a nut screw drive converting a rotating movement at a gearing output of the gearing to a linear movement of a piston of the at least one cylinder piston drive.

  • Publication number: 20040168867
Abstract: The invention relates to a braking system of a rail vehicle, particularly of a railroad freight car, containing a parking brake device having a gearing which converts a rotating movement initiated by rotation-actuating devices to an application movement of at least one pressure-medium-operated cylinder piston drive.

  • Patent number: 6746520
Abstract: A pneumatic brake force producing device for a vehicle comprising: a heat storing container; at least one intake device in the container for taking in surrounding air, the intake device having a condenser for condensing humidity out of the surrounding air, the condenser including at least one pope feeding the intake air the brake force producing device, and at least portions of the at least one pipe ore arranged in a cooler zone of the container which is cooler in a regular driving operation of the vehicle than air-guiding parts of the brake force producing device.

  • Publication number: 20030141758
Abstract: The invention relates to a pneumatic brake force producing device comprising at least one suction device for the surrounding air. The aim of the invention is to prevent the condensation of air humidity in the brake force producing device. According to the invention, this can be achieved in an especially reliable manner by passing the aspirated air through a condenser before it enters the brake force producing device. The air-guiding parts in said condenser are at a lower temperature than the air-guiding parts of the brake force producing device in such a way that enough air humidity from the air condenses in the condenser to avoid further condensation in the brake force producing device.

  • Patent number: 4280398
Abstract: A spring-loaded braking cylinder has a rapid release mechanism which disengageably connects the spring-loaded piston with the piston rod. A damping mechanism damps the relative movement between the piston and the piston rod which occurs upon release of the coupling between the spring-loaded piston and the piston rod. The piston rod is coupled to the piston by a transverse pin a portion of which projects into a transverse slot on the piston rod and another portion of which is movable within an L-shaped slot on the piston rod. An adaptor connected to the pin has a flange which acts as a piston within a closed chamber formed with the piston rod and filled with fluid. The spaces on both sides of the piston-like flange are interconnected by throttle passages.

  • Patent number: 4234062
Abstract: A brake cylinder has a piston one side of which is spring-loaded and the other side of which is acted upon by a fluid pressure medium. A spindle shaft is coupled t the cylinder by a screw coupling having a non-self-locking thread and is engageable with an actuating rod which is adapted to be connected to the brake linkage. A sleeve is rotatably mounted on the cylinder but is non-axially movable with respect to the cylinder. The sleeve is axially but non-rotatably slideable with respect to the spindle shaft. An overrunning drive is operatively connected between the sleeve and a drive mechanism which is operable exteriorly of the brake cylinder. The drive locks in the driving position when the sleeve rotates in a direction to unscrew the spindle shaft from the piston in the direction to release the brake.
