  • Publication number: 20090166311
Abstract: A pharmaceutical closure is made from rubber or thermoplastic elastomer and has an amount of TiO2 present in the closure. The closure has a marking made by laser thereon. A method for manufacturing the closure consists of producing a rubber sheet, forming a plurality of closures on the rubber sheet, with the closures remaining integrally connected with each other through remaining sheet parts, marking each of the closures with a laser marking, and separating the closures from each other by punching.

  • Publication number: 20040217082
Abstract: Closure (V) for infusion or transfusion bottles, having a rubber-like sealing part (1) adapted to the bottle neck (3), the closure cap (7) being formed for under-engagement, in which it grips beneath a bead (5), on the bottle neck (3), and, furthermore, an overcap (8) being provided for securing the closure cap (7) in a positively locking manner on the bottle neck (3), wherein the sealing part (1) is arrested on the closure cap (7), wherein the sealing part (1) is exposed, in the direction of the exterior of the closure cap (7), in a piercing region (17), and the overcap (8), which also grips over the piercing region (17), is securable on the closure cap (7) in a first, reversible latching position (I) at an axial spacing (y) from the piercing region (17).

  • Patent number: 6551286
Abstract: Safety cap for a cannula, comprising an outer sleeve (10) having a rolling end (11) and a top end (12) made of a rigid plastic material and a seal element (30) made of a gas-permeable, flexible plastic held inside the outer sleeve (10), having a channel (33) closed at one end to seal off the opening at the tip of the cannula, characterized in that the outer sleeve (10) is interrupted by at least one lateral opening (18) in its long side between the bottom end (11) and the top end (15).

  • Publication number: 20020113033
Abstract: The invention relates to a moulding serving for pharmaceutical uses, such as a stopper (1) for pharmaceutical bottles, a protective cap (2) for medical syringes or a sealing element (38, 39) for pharmaceutical containers, and proposes, to achieve production with virtually no scrap and with high product quality, that the moulding (1, 2, 38, 39, 44) consists, at least in a subregion, of a thermoplastic elastomer material with a mineral filler content of 30% or more and this subregion has a hot-runner injection point which is formed as a smooth-surfaced mark.

  • Patent number: 6241112
Abstract: A stopper for sealing containers for pharmaceutical liquids, especially infusion bottles, which stopper has a collar, which projects into the neck of the container; an edge, which rests on the neck of the container; and a puncture area, enclosed by the edge and the collar, the stopper being held on the neck of the container by a protective cap of metal or plastic, characterized in that the puncture area (3) is designed to have such elasticity and flexibility with respect to the edge (9) and the collar (6) that, after the stopper has been inserted into the neck (4) of the container, the puncture area bulges slightly outward; and in that, after the puncture needle (15) of an infusion kit (16) has been inserted into the stopper, the puncture area bulges down into the neck (4) of the container.

  • Patent number: 6192948
Abstract: A closure for a transportable container used in the transfer of materials to or from an enclosed process area is described. The container docks with a port in a wall of the process area forming a sealed connecting chamber which is sterilized by irradiation. Communication between the interiors of the container and the process area is then established. The closure has a collar and a lid, which portions are formed so that all the surfaces which form part of the connecting chamber in use are in the direct line of the sterilizing radiation, which is normally ultra-violet or pulsed white light radiation. No relevant surface is shadowed from the radiation. The lid may be formed integrally with the collar with a thin web separating the two to define a fracture line. The lid is provided with a grip which can be grasped from within the process area. Application of a pulling force to the grip causes the lid to be pealed away from the collar without the generation of particulates.
