    Abstract: A pneumatic deicer for a strut or airfoil having a knife-edge or wedge leading edge wherein one spanwise tube of the deicer envelopes the leading edge and is positioned with at least 55% but not more than about 75% of the width of the spanwise deicer tube positioned on one surface of the wedge, the remaining portion of the width being positioned on the remaining surface of the wedge.
