  • Patent number: 4756343
Abstract: A process for inserting weft lengths into the shed of a loom including a metering-delivering device that supplies a storage member for storing a predetermined length of yarns. The yarn length is caught between the outlet of the delivering device and the storage member in order to be inserted into the shed formed by the warp yarns. The yarn length is then cut and operationally gripped close to the selvedge of the fabric. The cut end of the yarn is held over before being re-introduced in the storage member for the next insertion, the cut end of the yarn being held over in an independent circuit outside the path joining the outlet of the delivering device to the inlet of the storage member.

  • Patent number: 4589451
Abstract: Weft measuring device for weaving looms, and in particular for shuttleless looms where the weft is cast through a shed by a pressurized mechanism or by the energy communicated to the mass of the yarn by a casting mechanism. The device has a pair of propelling rollers driven in rotation which form a gripping line between which the weft yarn is introduced intermittently by way of elements actuated in relation to the weft casting program. At least one of the rollers has a structure such that the end of the gripping line toward which the yarn is conveyed at the start of measurement moves regularly and synchronously with the cycle of the loom.

  • Patent number: 4553570
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the insertion of a weft yarn in the shed of a weaving machine in which said weft yarn is drawn from a reserve located outside the shed to be inserted in the form of a loop of which one of the ends is fastened and the other thrown, wherein an air stream is blown in the shed in the direction of insertion of the weft, the speed of this air stream being less than or at the most equal to the speed of the thrown end, the action of this air stream being such that it tends to maintain the two ends of the loop separate from each other.

  • Patent number: 4544001
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the preparation and insertion of at least one type of weft yarn into the shed of a weaving machine. The said device comprises a yarn metering-delivering member feeding a storage chamber used for temporarily storing a length of weft yarn before its insertion into the shed. The introduction of the weft yarn into the storage chamber and its extraction to be thrown by means of rotating rollers are effected via a single guiding channel which comprises a zone situated between the throwing rollers and close to the gripping line, said zone overlapping laterally with respect to the rollers and comprising a continuous longitudinal slot.

  • Patent number: 4529015
Abstract: A device adapted to be introduced into the shed of a weaving loom. The device is designed to facilitate insertion of a weft by an air stream. The device has a plurality of leaves which are spaced apart to allow the passage of the warp yarns. The leaves are placed in front of the reed and are provided with a recess, which recess is situated opposite the teeth. A portion of the reed, opposite to the recess, has a sharp-edged profile while the remaining portion has a round and smooth edged profile.

  • Patent number: 4509563
Abstract: A device for the insertion of a weft thread into the shed of a weaving machine is equipped with a delivery system for depositing a pick of weft thread from a weft thread storage space into a thread collecting unit; an insertion mechanism, placed between the delivery system and the thread collecting unit, which is adapted to intermittently insert, in synchronism with the cycle of the loom, the pick of weft thread into the shed between the warp threads; and a novel feeding system for feeding the pick of weft thread from the thread collecting unit to the insertion mechanism. The feeding system may be adapted to move unidirectionaly or alternately, or continuously or intermittently. This system is equipped with gripping devices that move through a predetermined path which is outside the trajectory of the insertion device. As the grippers move through their path the pull the pick or weft thread such that it is fed into the insertion mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4407335
Abstract: The invention relates to a procedure and device for the insertion of a weft thread into the space between two lines of warp thread in a weaving loom without using any shuttle. As per the invention, the thread to be inserted is fed to a pair of casting rollers forming between them a gripping line, with a guide being positioned above said rollers, and a gripping device being positioned so that the thread forms, between the above-mentioned elements, an acute angle with the gripping line of these rollers, and is positioned outside of this gripping line before being cast. For casting the thread, a system allows the thread to be moved between the rollers which shape the loop by themselves from a length of thread pulled out of a storage space.

  • Patent number: 4392515
Abstract: The invention relates to a weaving loom with waving shed heddle frames which when built in accordance with the invention insures that the heddles do not have lateral displacement when the frames are operated by controls respectively acting on both sides of the frames so that the motions of the respective sides differ from each other in their pattern. The bars of the frames are pivotably connected to the supports of these frames. These supports slide in stationary guides which restrict the lateral motion of the frames.
