  • Patent number: 5712531
Abstract: The invention concerns high-pressure discharge lamps, whose electrodes have a sintered compact (5) containing lanthanum oxide acting as an electron emitter, and this compact is surrounded by an electrode coil (6). Sintered compact (5) contains at least 90 weight % lanthanum oxide. In this way, a high thermal stability of sintered compact (5) and a good ignition performance of the lamp are assured with only negligible blackening of the discharge vessel over the service life of the lamp.

  • Patent number: 5299905
Abstract: A rope drum gear for a child's toy, for example a toy crane, is constructed such that a child can operate an elevating mechanism and a grab spade by way of ropes via the drum gear. A crank handle for actuating the mechanisms is connected to a split rotating drum by way of crank case wheel. The hub of the crank case is constructed as a sun wheel of a planetary wheel gear, which planetary wheel gear is in turn connected with a first half of the split rope drum. The first half of the split rope drum is connected via a rope to the grab spade operating mechanism. The first half of the drum when rotated engages the second hair by way of a clutch mechanism, the second half of the drum connected by a rope to the elevating mechanism of the crane. In this way, a child can reproduce the operation of a full-scale crane in a manner easy to operate and understand for the child.

  • Patent number: 4859510
Abstract: A description is given of artificial vegatation or plants or parts for the same in the form of lawns or trees and branches covered with leaves or needles, or alternatively ice or snow. Such vegetation or plants are used in the design of landscape accessories for model railways, architectural models, trick and fairytale films and the like. The plants for the green areas or the leaves of the foliage are fixed by gluing with a regular or irregular density distribution to a net-like fibrous union, which is firmly or removably placed on the branches of a tree or bush, or on a large-area substrate. The leaves of a tree are advantageously formed from several fibrous union portions provided on the edges with cut open net meshes. It is important for this design that the foliage is shaped from suitable flat material in symmetrically repeating manner so as to simulate the natural shapes of foliage.
