  • Patent number: 11966640
Abstract: A method for controlling a printer includes receiving a set of first variables for the printer, determining, using a machine-learning program, one or more second variables based on the set of first variables, and controlling a printer to perform a print job based on the set of first variables and the one or more second variables. The first and second variables may correspond to different types of printer settings. The machine-learning program may determine the second variables using a classifier model that may prevent partial curing or drying, print media deformation and/or other defects.

  • Patent number: 6019118
Abstract: Cryogenic valve with at least one pair of sealing elements, preferably one with a seat and a tappet, whose seat surfaces are in sealing contact with one another in the shutoff position. At least one sealing element of the pair is formed of a linearly superelastic shape memory alloy, which is stabilized by plastic cold working in the martensitic textural state, i.e., no longer displays a shape memory effect.

  • Patent number: 4694655
Abstract: A controllable helium-II phase separator utilizes the cut-off action of the thermomechanical effect if superfluid helium-II flows through a capillary gap-shaped canal. For controlling the throughput, the gap width of the canal is varied by changing the distance between two opposite canal walls at least in the range between 0 and 15 .mu.m.

  • Patent number: 4607490
Abstract: A helium II phase separator reproducible in manufacture utilizes a thermo-mechanical effect and comprises a plurality of adjacent passage gaps of identical width which are provided in the walls of a cavity dipped into a bath of liquid helium, so that the gaseous helium can be taken off.

  • Patent number: 4439111
Abstract: A solar pumping system, comprises, a pumping housing which defines a pump chamber therein which is adapted to be positioned in the ground below ground water level. Displacer means in the form of, for example, a bladder, arranged within the pump chamber, is capable of displacing liquid out of the pump chamber in response to a pressurized medium acting thereon to expel the water out of the chamber and up to a level above the ground for use. A suction valve connected into the chamber permits the ground water to flow into the chamber and a discharge valve connected out of the chamber permits the outflow of the ground water during the action of the displacer means. The construction includes a solar collector having at least one hydride conduit which is adapted to be exposed to the sun for solar heating to act on the hydride to cause hydrogen to be formed, the pressure of which acts against the displacer means to displace the ground liquid out of the pump chamber.

  • Patent number: 4300354
Abstract: A low temperature tank is suspended in an outer shell or container by a pality of straps of fiber compound materials. Each strap comprises a plurality of individual strap elements arranged in series. The strap elements are made of different fibers whereby the strap element closest to the tank is made of a fiber material having the lowest heat expansion coefficient as compared to the heat expansion coefficient of the other elements of a strap further away from the tank. Preferably the strap elements are thermally insulated from each other. In that case the strap elements need not necessarily be made of fiber materials having different heat expansion coefficients.

  • Patent number: 4281518
Abstract: A method of separating certain components of a gas mixture in which the gas mixture is cooled and certain components are separated in a liquid or solid state characterized by introducing the gas mixture into a separator tank, adding a cooling agent such as a liquid or cold inert gas so as to cool the gas mixture and separating component in a solid state and subsequently fusing the separated solid into a liquid in a collecting tank. The concentrated gas mixture to be separated is directly removed from its place of use and directly supplied to the separator tank without allowing any further admixture of secondary air. The device for carrying out the method comprises an insulated tank to which air having entrained sulfer dioxide is introduced. The air flow is controlled so that it is oriented in a particular direction and it is passed beyond nozzles for injecting an inert gas such as liquid nitrogen into the interior of the insulated tank.

  • Patent number: 4167856
Abstract: A solar-thermal power plant, comprises an open air circuit wherein the eftive heat obtained from solar energy is supplied to the air current between a compressor and an expansion machine. The construction includes a solar heater which is exposed directly to solar radiation and which is traversed by the air current and provides a means for the direct solar heating of the air current which is conveyed from the compressor to the expansion machine.

  • Patent number: 4156306
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a regeneratively cooled rocket combustion chamber which includes a thrust nozzle portion connected to a combustion chamber portion and which is constructed with cooling channels which extend in the longitudinal direction between an inner shell or wall having a smooth interior surface and an outer shell or wall and which are laterally bounded by radially extending webs, comprises forming the inner shell along with the cooling channel webs by electrodepositing metal on an electroplating core which is made up of chemically dissolvable material and has its outside contour conformable to the inside contour of the inner wall of the combustion chamber which is provided with radially extending projections forming mold blades for the webs defining the lateral boundaries of the cooling channels. Thereafter, the cooling channels are filled with a multiple electrically well-conducting filling material up to the level of the outer ends of the webs after these outer ends have been finish turned.
