  • Patent number: 11078059
Abstract: A pneumatic jack includes a body, a lifting arm, and a bladder. Inflating the bladder applies downward pressure on a proximal end of the lifting arm and raises a distal end of the lifting arm. Subsequently deflating the bladder has the opposite effect. A mounting block at the distal end of the lifting arm allows the pneumatic jack to be used to raise and lower an object such as an automobile through inflation and deflation of the bladder.

  • Patent number: 10569903
Abstract: An apparatus including a platform, casters attached to the platform, and a carriage supported by the platform is described. The carriage includes a left arm, a right arm, and an actuation mechanism. The left arm can pivot about a left lateral axis, and the right arm can pivot about a right lateral axis. The actuation mechanism allows a distance between a proximal end of the left arm and a proximal end of the right arm to be modified. Increasing the distance causes a distal end of the left arm and a distal end of the right arm to swing towards each other. Decreasing the distance causes the distal end of the left arm and the distal end of the right are to swing away from each other. The apparatus provides a convenient means by which to move a helicopter equipped with skids while the helicopter is on the ground.

  • Patent number: 9162857
Abstract: An apparatus comprises a base, a top member, and a bladder. The top member defines a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end of the top member is pivotally coupled to the base. The bladder, in turn, is disposed between the base and the top member. Arranged in this manner, the apparatus is operative to raise the distal end of the top member away from the base as the bladder is inflated.

  • Patent number: 6286813
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a jack preferably comprising: a platform; a jack arm stabilizer guide having a first and a second terminal end, the first terminal end being attached to the platform; a jack arm; a jack arm stabilizer attached near the first terminal end of the jack arm, and the jack arm stabilizer is preferably slidably connected to the jack arm stabilizer guide so as to allow the jack arm stabilizer to be translocatable between the first and the second terminal ends of the jack arm stabilizer guide; and a vertical lift system operatively connected between the jack arm and the platform which is capable of vertically lifting the jack arm, thus translocating the jack arm stabilizer within the jack arm stabilizer guide.

  • Patent number: 5535867
Abstract: A torque regulating coupling for use with an impact wrench drive and socket, the coupling for connecting an impact wrench drive to the a wrench socket used to tighten threaded fasteners so that the maximum torque applied to the fastener can be limited to a predetermined value. The coupling featuring a slider, movably mounted within in a coupling body which is adapted to be connected to the wrench drive. Additionally, the coupling includes a multi-element, torque transmission member axially disposed within the coupling body and arranged to be connected to a wrench socket for engaging the fastener. Still further the coupling includes a an adjustment mechanism that has a sleeve and position pin in one form and sleeve and gear train in another for locating the slider along the length of the transmission member to regulate the maximum amount of torque delivered from the wrench drive to the fastener.

  • Patent number: 4854803
Abstract: Apparatus and method for jacking and dollying a vehicle wheel assembly, while the assembly remains affixed to the vehicle, the wheel assembly including a pneumatic tire, a wheel and an axle. The apparatus features a "U" shaped framework having telescoping body section members to which orthogonally extending arms are attached. Wheel assembly engaging elements in the form of roller assemblies are mounted on the framework arms for engaging the tire of a wheel assembly located therebetween for lifting. The apparatus also includes an actuator mounted on the framework body section members for driving the roller assemblies against the wheel assembly tire to cause lift, and form the framework and roller assemblies into a carriage for retaining the wheel assembly. Still further, the framework is mounted on casters to enable transport of the supported wheel assembly and framework.

  • Patent number: 4690605
Abstract: An apparatus for jacking and dollying a vehicle wheel assembly, while the assembly remains affixed to the vehicle, the wheel assembly including a pneumatic tire, a wheel and an axle. The apparatus features wheel engaging elements and an actuator mounted on an apparatus framework, the framework itself being supported on casters. The wheel engaging elements and actuator cooperate to provide an adjustable mechanical advantage for the apparatus that facilitate the lifting of the wheel assembly, whether the pneumatic tire is inflated of deflated. The wheel engaging elements includes roller assemblies having adjustable effective radii which are mounted on framework arm members, the arm members being movable relative to one another. The actuator includes an adjustabe lever mechanism which is connected to the framework, and is capable of driving the roller assemblies against the tire of a wheel assembly located therebetween.
