  • Publication number: 20230417298
Abstract: A pad-holding and pad return spring assembly has a pad-holding spring arranged between a guiding ear of a brake pad and a support, and a pad return spring. The pad-holding spring has a C-shaped section having a central portion adapted to be inserted into a recess of the support and to accommodate the guiding ear. The pad return spring has an anchoring portion connected to the C-shaped section extending in axial direction in a first orientation opposite to a brake disc, and an elastic return arm connected to the anchoring portion and having an elastic return arm end for engaging the brake pad. The elastic return arm develops along an elastic return arm longitudinal direction oriented in the axial direction with a second orientation concordant with the brake disc, is elastically movable between an advanced position and a resting position and in operation is spaced from the pad-holding spring and the anchoring portion.

  • Patent number: 11852207
Abstract: An assembly has two pads having a support plate and a friction material coating, each pad being accommodated in a pocket of a caliper and positionable on a side of a brake disc. At least one spring applies an elastic bias on the pads so as to elastically bias the pads away from the brake disc. The support plate has a plate coupling portion having an inner lower edge, facing the brake disc in a radially inward direction or towards the rotation axis, an inner upper edge, facing the brake disc in a radially outward direction or opposite to the rotation axis, the inner upper edge continuing on a direct upper surface according to the axial direction (A-A), forming an upper spring-coupling plate portion edge. The spring is always in contact exclusively with the inner lower edge and the upper spring-coupling plate portion edge.

  • Publication number: 20230313856
Abstract: A caliper body which has a wheel-side first portion, a vehicle-side second portion, at least one thrust device housing, and at least one bridge connecting the wheel-side first portion to the vehicle-side second portion is provided. The at least one bridge has at least one ventilation opening and at least one conveying channel fluidically connected to the outside of the caliper body through the at least one ventilation opening. The least one ventilation opening directly faces in an axial direction the inside of the caliper body with the outside of the caliper body to direct heat generated inside the caliper body in an outer axial direction towards the outside of the caliper body and conveyed outside by the at least one conveying channel through the at least one ventilation opening.

  • Publication number: 20230193964
Abstract: A disc brake caliper has a caliper body arranged straddling a brake disc having a rotation axis defining an axial direction and opposite friction surfaces, pads accommodated in the caliper body, a cylinder forming a cylindrical wall and a bottom wall, a piston, and a parking-braking system having a rotating member accommodated within a rotation housing formed in the bottom wall. The cylinder defines a first annular housing and a second annular housing both made in the bottom wall, and extending in a direction transverse to the axial direction and leading into the rotation housing. The second annular housing is distinct from the first annular housing and positioned in a direction opposite to an inner surface of the bottom wall. The first annular housing accommodates a first seal. The second annular housing accommodates a second seal. The first and second seals act between the rotating member and the bottom wall.

  • Publication number: 20230072036
Abstract: A guide pin for a floating-type brake caliper of a disc brake where the brake caliper may have a caliper body and a bracket. The guide pin may be configured to be placed between the caliper body and the bracket. The guide pin is configured to connect to a guide sleeve and slide at least partially within the guide sleeve. The guide pin may have a first pin coupling portion. The guide pin may also have a pin sliding portion to guide the guide pin into a sliding housing formed in either the caliper body or the bracket. The guide pin may also have a second pin coupling portion. The first pin coupling portion is arranged between the second pin coupling portion and the pin sliding portion. The first pin coupling portion is threaded to form a threaded coupling between the guide pin and the guide sleeve.

  • Publication number: 20230008271
Abstract: A ventilated brake rotor rotationally associated with a vehicle element to be braked, having a rotation axis and defining an axial direction, parallel to or coinciding with the rotation axis, a radial direction perpendicular to the axial direction and a circumferential direction, perpendicular to both the axial and radial directions, has a cup-shaped body having at least one ventilation opening passing through a cup-shaped body thickness to allow passage of a cooling fluid for cooling the ventilated brake rotor, at least one front annular portion for connecting the ventilated brake rotor to the vehicle element to be braked, and a side portion extending from the at least one front annular portion at least in the axial direction. A protective element shields the at least one ventilation opening preventing foreign bodies from entering into the cup-shaped body and allowing the cooling fluid to cross the at least one ventilation opening.
