    Abstract: The essence oils of citrus fruit juices, known to be relatively non-toxic to humans, plants and animals, have been found to be lethal insecticides. In addition, the essence oils exhibit a synergistic effect when combined with conventional botanical insecticides such as pyrethrum and the efficiency of the essence oils of citrus fruit juices is increased by the use of a synergist such as technical piperonyl butoxide.
