  • Patent number: 9898232
Abstract: In a method to administer, via a print job administrator, print jobs to be printed at a printing system, a plurality of print jobs are determined. A print job can indicate a specification of one or more print features. Different specifications of a print feature may require different configurations of the printing system. Change-over expenditures for the printing of at least two print jobs of the plurality of print jobs by the printing system can be determined based on the specification of the one or more print features of the plurality of print jobs. An order for the printing of the plurality of print jobs can be determined based on the change-over expenditures. The order of the plurality of print jobs can be indicated.

  • Patent number: 8503007
Abstract: In a method for processing of a plurality of document processing jobs in a computer-aided document processing system, job chaperone data are generated that identify a preferred job processing apparatus relative to other job processing apparatuses of a same type in a job provider computer with respect to a document processing job.

  • Patent number: 8373872
Abstract: In a method or system for reception from a sender of a print data with a print job by a print server of a first printing system from a sender, with the print server of the first printing system acknowledging to the sender correct receipt of a predetermined data unit of print data according to a predetermined protocol. With the print server of the first printing system copying the print data to a mirror print server of a second printing system separate from the print server of the first printing system before execution of the respective acknowledgement for the predetermined data unit, and automatically using as a print server for continued execution of the print job given problems in storage of the print data on the print server of the first printing system, said mirror print server of the second printing system.

  • Patent number: 7672010
Abstract: In a method and system for generating document templates for print jobs, in which a document template is generated in a generation unit using static resource data that are combined into addressable data sets. The document template is registered in a resource administration unit. The resource administration unit generates a resource list in which the resource data sets used by the document template are listed. Using the resource list, the resource administration unit controls a transfer of the used resource data sets to a data processing device in which the document template is supplemented with variable data, whereby the resource administration unit in turn can be controlled via a superordinate program.

  • Patent number: 7403730
Abstract: A printer or copier system with at least one of a pre-processing unit and a post-processing unit, comprises a printing unit that generates a print image on a carrier material. An operating unit is connected via a data line with the printing unit. The operating unit outputs at least one graphical user interface on a display for operation of the printing unit. At least one processing unit is connected with at least one of the printing unit and the operating unit for processing of the carrier material such that data are transferable between the processing unit and at least one of the printing unit and the operating unit. In the processing unit, data are stored that are transferred to at least one of the printing unit and the operating unit with which the graphical user interface is activated at least for operation of the processing unit.

  • Publication number: 20050044498
Abstract: The invention concerns a computerized printing system with a printer and print server clients that are connected via a data network. The print servers have a graphical user interface from which several application programs may be operated. The printing system comprises one or several data units which are called workspaces. A frame of the graphical user interface is assigned to each of these workspaces. Each data unit has a list which includes one or several application programs. It also includes a configuration data file in which these application programs are assigned to precisely one window within the frame of the graphical user interface. Consequently, the user is provided with a set graphical user interface with a user-friendly display of the application programs. An appertaining method and software product are also provided.
