  • Patent number: 4591962
Abstract: The power supply converts alternating current voltage to a direct current voltage which is in turn converted to a pulse width modulated voltage. A circuit arrangement is provided responsive to the pulse width modulated voltage to produce N output direct current voltages each having a different predetermined value, where N is an integer greater than one. A feedback circuit is provided between the circuit arrangement and the circuit providing the pulse width modulated voltage to provide a substantially constant value for the N output voltages when a varying load is presented to the power supply. A current transformer arrangement is coupled in series in the feedback circuit to provide wide bandwidth and low droop without oscillation for the power supply when the power supply is subjected to a step load (a step from no-load up to full-load).

  • Patent number: 4538219
Abstract: A multiwinding inductor is disclosed which inductor is employed in a power control circuit. The power control circuit is of the type having a transformer which has a center tapped primary winding coupled to and associated with a plurality of secondary windings. The primary winding of the transformer is switched by means of switching devices during a power control operation. The inductor has a first winding in the primary which winding has one terminal coupled to the center tap and a second terminal coupled to a generator and a filter arrangement. Another winding of the inductor designated as a free wheeling winding is in series with an auxiliary impedance and has one terminal coupled to the common terminal of the switching devices and a second terminal coupled through a rectifier to the generator. At least two additional windings of the inductor are coupled to suitable rectifier circuits associated with the secondary windings of the transformer.

  • Patent number: 4262238
Abstract: To reliably turn OFF a pulse-controlled thyristor in series with a battery supplied motor circuit, in case of malfunction of the control circuit, or even of the supervisory circuit itself, the voltage across the thyristor is sensed and, if an ON condition of the thyristor, as represented by sensed voltage, is determined while the pulse source does not provide an ON command, a disabling control signal is applied to the pulse source to provide an OFF command; in case of failure of the sensing element, an additional voltage is supplied, through a time delay circuit to the disabling input. Time delay circuits are interposed between the respective sensed signal and command signal and applied through a logic circuit to prevent spurious operation of the monitoring and safety circuit.
