    Abstract: A zero sequence, fifth harmonic filter for reducing fifth harmonic distortion in a five-phase power distribution system includes five pairs of coils. Each coil has a first leg and a second leg and each pair of coils has a first coil and a second coil. The first leg of each of the first coils is connected to a corresponding phase of the power distribution system; one first leg to each of the five phases of the power distribution system. The first leg of each of the second coils is connected to a neutral of the power distribution system and the second leg of each of the first coils is connected to the second leg of a next second coil in a staggered fashion.
