Abstract: A system and communication devices for managing refuse collection. The communication devices include a master device for receiving a download list and displaying the same, a plurality of slave devices attached to refuse containers, each having a MAC address. The download list comprises list of MAC addresses of the plurality of slave devices located in the communication range of the master device. The master device scans for slave devices. If a scanned MAC address of a slave device is listed on the download list, the master device sends command to the slave device to emit a signal, preferably a flashing green LED light, signalling that the refuse container needs to be emptied.

Abstract: A method includes detecting a first touch at a first location, and a second touch at a second location, on a touch-sensitive display of an electronic device. In response to detecting the first and second touches, a first section of a virtual keyboard having a first boundary associated with the first location and a second section of the virtual keyboard having a second boundary associated with the second location are displayed on the touch-sensitive display.

Abstract: A method and system for matching a consumer to a desired product is disclosed. Each of the products is initially described using a defined list of characteristics. Each of the characteristics is defined on a scale, and the consumer provides a value on the scale when describing the desired product. The consumer creates a search by entering values for the characteristics describing the product that are important to that consumer. Each of the entered values in the search is compared against the list defining a particular product. The matching routine ranks each of the products that most closely match the search by the consumer. The search results are further filtered according to the present location of the consumer. The filtered results are presented to the consumer to provide a list of products that best match the desired product and that are located proximate to the consumer.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for a touch sensitive device to display a first set of keys on a first window on a display of the touch sensitive device. The touch sensitive device receives a first touch event comprising a plurality of first touch values. The touch sensitive device receives a second touch event comprising a plurality of second touch values associated with a touch detected by the touch sensitive device. The touch sensitive device displays a second set of the one or more keys on a second window of the one or more windows based at least in part on the second touch event.

Abstract: A method and system for customer service and support integrated with social networks includes an Internet available server application where consumers and providers can create their profiles, integrate their profiles with existing social network profiles, and collaborate with each other on resolving consumer issues using a workflow engine supported with a rule engine. Consumers may be organized into consumer groups and into federations of consumer groups. Consumer issues may be voted on thereby raising the significance of an issue and/or building a provider's reputation based in part on resolved issues, issue votes, and by reviews and comments. Consumers manage their profiles. Provider profiles are predominately affected by resolved/unresolved issues or positive/negative reviews. Notifications are handled automatically based on configured workflow and rule engine and utilize internal messaging system, emails, SMS and other available social network services (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
