Publication number: 20240063938Abstract: A method is performed by a network node for handling link adaptation for a communication between the network node and a User Equipment, UE, in a wireless communications network. The method comprises: obtaining an initial Information Carrying Capacity, ICC, estimate; and establishing a measurement at each Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request, HARQ, feedback on an initial transmission in the communication. The measurement comprises a Block Error Rate, BLER, per: rank, Modulation and Coding Scheme, MCS, and slot. Based on the established measurement it is determining whether or not to adjust the initial ICC estimate, and whether or not to disable outer loop ICC adjustments. The determining is to be used as a basis for the link adaptation of said communication. A corresponding network node is also presented.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 11, 2022Publication date: February 22, 2024Inventors: Aleksandar Jovanovic, Ahmedul Quadir, David Better

Patent number: 10779249Abstract: According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a method is implemented by a first Radio Network Controller (RNC). The first RNC determines a communication link delay of a base station supported by the first RNC. Subsequent to the determining, a request is received from a different, second RNC to add a call leg that includes the base station as a call leg for a call supported by the second RNC. Based on the request, the first RNC transmits a response to the second RNC that indicates the determined communication link delay. According to another aspect of the present disclosure, the second RNC uses the response to perform transport channel synchronization.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2014Date of Patent: September 15, 2020Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (Publ)Inventors: Aleksandar Jovanovic, Jakub Jablonski

Patent number: 10009281Abstract: A Radio Base Station (RBS) and a method performed by the RBS comprises receiving a frame F1 from a network node, the frame having a sequence number N. If the last received frame F0, prior to the received frame F1, has a sequence number lower than N?1, then starting a first timer T1 having a predefined length in time and temporarily storing the received frame F1. If a subsequent frame F2 having a sequence number lower than N and higher than the sequence number of frame F0 is received, then the received frame F2 is stored. When all frames having a sequence number between the sequence number of frame F0 and N have been received during the predefined length of the first timer T1, then forwarding the stored frames and/or received frames to the UE in the order of the sequence numbers.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2014Date of Patent: June 26, 2018Assignee: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET LM ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Anders Jonsson, Aleksandar Jovanovic, Roger Wallerius

Patent number: 9521599Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of, and device in the form of a radio access network supervising entity for, adapting to delay in a communication link established between the radio access network supervising entity and at least one radio base station communicating with a mobile terminal. The method comprises associating a target Connection Frame Number (CFN) to each transmitted data frame, said target CFN being calculated by offsetting an expected CFN with a counter value corresponding to a current communication link delay, repeatedly determining delay of the communication link, and adapting to the delay of the communication link by adjusting transmission time of the transmitted frame, and/or adjusting the target CFN of the transmitted frame, said target CFN being calculated by offsetting the expected CFN with a counter value corresponding to a determined new delay.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2012Date of Patent: December 13, 2016Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Aleksandar Jovanovic, Johan Magnusson, Fredrik Sonnevi

Publication number: 20150225791Abstract: A method of determining the vascular endothelial function of a subject using GAPDH as a biomarker is presented, whereby the level of GAP-DH mRNA and/or GAPDH protein in a sample obtained from a subject is measured and compared to a reference. A difference in the level of GAPDH mRNA and/or GAPDH protein between that measured for the sample and a reference may be indicative of impaired vascular endothelial function and therefore may indicate the onset of a condition related to impaired vascular endothelial function such as atherosclerosis.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 31, 2013Publication date: August 13, 2015Inventors: Aleksandar Jovanovic, Faisel Khan

Publication number: 20150035670Abstract: Method, processing node and system for triggering an appropriate action in a detection system. Data tuples comprising an emitter identifier and a timestamp sent from an emitter device are received at a processing node. A period between the timestamp of two of the data tuples provides an indication on status of the emitter device. The data tuples are stored into a memory module. A subset of the data tuples is read or queried from the memory module. The subset of the data tuples is analyzed to identify a pre-determined condition. The appropriate action is triggered when the pre-determined condition is met.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 31, 2013Publication date: February 5, 2015Applicant: 7680597 CANADA INC.Inventors: Daniel CYR, Aleksandar JOVANOVIC

Patent number: 8159391Abstract: A method to detect at a GNSS receiver whether the received GNSS signals and navigation messages are the product of an attack. If there is evidence, as provided by the method described here, that the received signals and messages originate from adversarial devices, then receiver equipped with an instantiation of the method notifies the user or the computing platform that integrates the GNSS receiver that the calculated via the GNSS functionality position and time correction are not trustworthy. In other words, our method enables any GNSS receiver, for example, GPS, GLONASS, or Galileo, or any other GNSS system, to detect if the received navigation messages are the legitimate ones (from the satellites) or not (e.g., from attacker devices that generate fake messages that overwrite the legitimate messages). Based on this detection, neither the user and nor any application running in the computing platform is misled to utilize erroneous position information.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2009Date of Patent: April 17, 2012Assignee: Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL)Inventors: Panagiotis Papadimitratos, Aleksandar Jovanovic
