  • Patent number: 10371004
Abstract: A layer system is provided having at least two layers, an inner layer on a boundary surface of a substrate, wherein the inner layer has a certain roughness in a region of the surface to an outer layer due to a coating processes, wherein a roughness of the boundary surface of the substrate is set in a targeted manner, or the boundary surface is machined, after it has been produced, such that the roughness of the boundary surface of the substrate has peaks and troughs that are at least 20% greater than the roughness of the interface if peaks and troughs were not to be present. As a result of the structured surface of the substrate, this roughness becomes positioned on an interface of the layers located above, and the adhesion of the layers to one another is thereby improved.

  • Patent number: 9097127
Abstract: A layer system with ceramic layers includes a substrate, a MCrAl(X) layer, which has an oxide layer on the substrate, a lowermost ceramic layer, an outer pyrochlore layer, and a central ceramic layer. The central ceramic layer has a higher porosity at least partially than the outer pyrochlore layer.

  • Publication number: 20120270063
Abstract: A metallic article adapted to be exposed to a gas during operation conditions is provided. The metallic article includes a metallic substrate, and a thermal barrier coating on the metallic substrate for restricting heat transfer from the gas to the metallic substrate. The thermal barrier coating includes a coating of a ceramic material formed by a deposition of powdered particles of said ceramic material defining a porous microstructure, wherein the porous microstructure has an average pore size ‘d’, such that d ? 0.

  • Publication number: 20110159260
Abstract: A multilayer coating system is provided. The multilayer coating system includes a substrate, a first metallic layer on the substrate, a first ceramic layer on the first metallic layer, a second metallic layer on the first ceramic layer, and an outermost ceramic layer on the second metallic layer. The multilayer coating system achieves a relatively high overall layer thickness since the critical layer thicknesses of the individual layers do not exceed the multilayer coating.
