  • Publication number: 20090208319
Abstract: The sheets are supplied interfolded by two folding rollers, on a table on which they are piled up forming a stack. When the stack achieves a predetermined height a first plurality of separators and a second plurality of separators, arranged for all the length of the stack and from opposite sides are inserted into the stack to provide the disengagement of the stack already formed from a stack being formed, leaving between them of a wing of sheet hanging. The stack formed is then withdrawn quickly from the stack being formed by means of a table, which translates vertically, and is subject to a blow of air for stretching a possible last sheet. Then, the stack formed is left on a longitudinal conveyor belt located underneath. At the same time, a sheet stretching board moves under the stack of interfolded sheets, for all its length, for provisional support thereof and for stretching completely the wing hanging from the stack being formed with a portion of wing that exceeds sheet stretching board.

  • Patent number: 7503153
Abstract: Banding machine for packaging logs of stacks of folded, overlapped or interfolded sheets applies a banding web of paper or plastic film on four longitudinal sides. During motion of the web in a direction orthogonal to the drawings, a glue gun spreads a glue line the length of the web, near the lower free wing. The packaging web crosses the walls at upper and lower gaps. Pushing the compressed log in the channel, the packaging web is arranged stretched in front of the log, the log being pushed against the packaging web well beyond the gap, causing self-packaging, i.e. the log is wound for ¾ by the web, leaving two free wings with the second having glue on it. At least one of the sections includes a movable portion, which can be a rotating wall, for enlarging the gap to allow the movement of the glued zone of the web.

  • Patent number: 7442157
Abstract: An interfolding machine for sheet material for making a stack of interfolded sheets includes at least one web of material to interfold that is cut into sheets of predetermined length and rolls for partially overlapping the sheets in order to form an overlapped portion between two consecutive sheets. Interfolding rolls are also provided, adapted to produce the stack, as well as a conveyor adapted to convey the partially overlapped sheets in a zone set between the roll and the interfolding rolls. Further, the overlapping portion of the sheets is maintained constant through a plurality of belts and guides facing the belts so that between the belts and the respective guides a channel is formed for conveying the partially overlapped sheets.

  • Publication number: 20070272788
Abstract: Banding machine for packaging logs (2) consisting of stacks of folded, overlapped or interfolded sheets, adapted to apply a banding web of paper or plastic film (8) for banding it on four longitudinal sides, through means for packaging (23). A glue gun (12), during the motion of the web in a direction orthogonal to the drawings, spreads a glue line (4) for all the length of the web (8), near the lower free wing (29). The packaging web (8) crosses the walls (13) at two gaps (26, 27), respectively upper and lower. This way, pushing the compressed log (2) in the channel (6), the packaging web (8) is arranged stretched in front of the log (2). Thus, by the pusher (7), the log (2) is pushed against the packaging web (8) well beyond the gap (26, 27), causing a kind of self-packaging, i.e. the log is wound for ¾ by the web (8) and leaving two free wings, (29, 30), of which the second has glue on it.

  • Publication number: 20070271872
Abstract: Banding machine for logs (1) of sheet material fed by a conveyor belt (2) to a packaging apparatus adapted to band it with a banding web (11) up to form a tubular wrapper around it. The packaging apparatus of the banding machine comprises a pusher (7) operated by an actuator (8), which pushes the log (1) in a channel (10) where a packaging sheet (11) is arranged stretched in front of the log, as an obstacle, along all the length of the machine through a passage (12). According to the invention, the conveyor belt (2) and the packaging apparatus (7) are arranged at different heights, respectively at a first and a second height (H1 and H2). Another pusher (14) can be provided, operated by a cylinder piston (15) at a first height (H1), in addition to the pusher (7) at the second height (H2), independent from each other. Furthermore, a lifting member (13) is provided, which receives the log (1) from the first pusher (14) and moves from the first height (H1) to the second height (H2).

  • Patent number: 7097607
Abstract: An interfolding machine, having first and second folding counter rotating rollers, a substantially cylindrical body and a plurality of folding means for engaging at a contact line (15) for making a stack of folded and/or interfolded sheets in a folding area. Each folding roller (1) is held by at least one support (10) arranged substantially opposite to the contact line in order to not impede folding operations in the folding area. Between the support and the folding roller, a bearing (20) is mounted that allows free rotation. The support holds the folding roller at an angular portion circumferentially unoccupied by folding elements or mechanical clamps and inclined at an angle with respect to a plane containing the axes of the two rollers. The support does not interfere with the adjusting operation of the folding roller and allows processing of the sheet or web of paper without interrupting continuity.

  • Publication number: 20060138272
Abstract: A method for rewinding a web of sheet material for making a log wound on a core in a winding zone formed between an upper winding roller and a lower winding roller. Upstream of the winding zone a cradle is provided for feeding the core connected to the support of the lower roller and located beneath the upper winding roller. At least a portion of the cradle is movable with respect to the support of the lower roller and is capable of lowering or rising towards/away from the upper winding roller. For each step of feeding a core, the movable portion can be displaced from a first position of load of the core to a second position wherein the core contacts the upper roller. When the upper roller contacts the core for reaching the winding zone it moves first on the movable portion and then on a fixed portion of the cradle that is integral to the support wherein the axle rotates of the lower roller.

  • Publication number: 20060073007
Abstract: A method for separating two consecutive interfolded sheets, during the production of packages of paper products, even if there is present at least one tear-off line or “tab bond”. The sheets are fed in an interfolded way from interfolding rollers on a table by means of suitable folding arms. At a predetermined height of the stack a first plurality of separators, arranged along the length of the stack and at opposite sides with respect to it, are inserted in the same stack. This introduction divides the formed stack from the growing stack. Between the separators and the table a side of a sheet stretching board is introduced. The formed stack is then arranged between the table and the sheet stretching board. These are lowered vertically and move away from each other autonomously from the separators up to cause the disengagement of the growing stack from the formed stack.

  • Publication number: 20040250706
Abstract: For activating the suction holes on rollers of paper converting machines a plate is arranged in a sliding channel made longitudinally in a roller part of a roller by means of screws and comprises two rows of holes. The plate is equipped with interposition holes 2 which, if aligned as in FIG. 2, bring in communication suction holes of roller with a suction chamber made in roller and connected by means of a duct to an air suction system. Depending on the configuration, some suction holes are aligned to interposition holes, whereas other interposition holes, for example slotted holes, are in part overlapping suction holes and then in communication with suction chamber. By sliding plate 1 in the channel, the situation can change in order to bring all or different interposition holes aligned to suction holes.

  • Patent number: 6228014
Abstract: A machine (1) for interfolding sheet material (4a, 4b) starting from a web (3a, 3b) of paper and the like. A sequence of offset sheets (4a, 4b) is formed on folding rollers (7a, 7b) which are counter-rotating with respect to each other and have a plurality of circumferential grooves (15a, 15b), in which oscillating folding arms engage (20a, 20b) so as to form a stack (17) of interfolded sheets (4a, 4b). The folding arms (20a, 20b) have pivots (21) very close to the periphery of the folding rollers (7a, 7b), inside or outside of the grooves (15a, 15b). Moreover they can be operated by a crank mechanism that allows to the grooves (15a, 15b) to be shallow enough also in case of rollers (7a, 7b) of enlarged diameter. For the same reason, the folding arms (20a, 20b) can have a bent portion.
