  • Patent number: 8596834
Abstract: A heatsink (2), comprising a heatsink body (3) extending between two endsides (4, 5) of the heatsink body. The heatsink is designed for introducing the heatsink with the first endside ahead into an aperture (16), which is provided in a wall (17), and for a thermal conductive connection of a heat-generating element (14) to the second endside, with a main direction of extent (6) of the heatsink body (3) from the first endside (4) to the second endside (5) being bent or sharply bent. Furthermore, an illumination system with such a heatsink is disclosed.

Date of Patent: December 3, 2013
Assignee: OSRAM Gesellschaft mit Beschränkter Haftung
Inventors: Felix Franck, Alessandro Maschietto, Alessandro Scordino
  • Patent number: 7791287
Abstract: A LED arrangement includes:—a plurality of cells (0, 1, 2, 3) each including at least one respective LED having a binning class as a function of its emission wavelength (L1, L2) and brightness (B1, B2) characteristics, —a plurality of impedance elements (R0, R1, R2, R3) respectively coupled with the cells (0, 1, 2, 3), each impedance element (R0, R1, R2, R3) having an impedance value indicative of the binning class of the at least one LED included in the respective cell (0, 1, 2, 3), and —a controller (5) configured for sensing (6, 80, 81, 82, 83) the impedance values of the impedance elements (R0, R1, R2, R3) and adaptively drive each cell (0, 1, 2, 3) as a function of its binning class as indicated by the impedance element (R0, R1, R2, R3) coupled to the cell.

  • Patent number: 7470055
Abstract: A mounting structure for LED lighting sources, includes a support body having attached on one side thereof a circuit board for mounting the LED lighting sources. The circuit board is preferably a printed-circuit board with conductive traces to feed electrical power to the LED lighting sources. The support body is in the form of an elongated bar or a box with a linear, round, square, hexagonal or octagonal shape. The support body is a drawn or molded body of a lightweight material and preferably exhibits good heat transfer properties. The support body includes a back side for mounting the structure on a supporting surface, such back side possibly having associated a heat dissipation fixture. Additionally, the support body may have free space inside and/or be at least partially apertured to permit cooling air flow for a driver circuit for driving the LED lighting source.
