Abstract: Systems and methods allowing for RFID tags to be programmed from a distance and in a situation where multiple RFID tags may be within range of a programming reader such as when they have been previously attached to a good and the good is already in an RFID monitored system. The programming reader typically utilizes a steerable phased array antenna to first identify and then target a specific tag before sending instructions to program the tag.
