  • Patent number: 7647870
Abstract: An electromagnetic launch system including an electrothermal launcher, an inductive power supply (IPS), including a DC source (Vb) and a storage inductor (L), and an opening switch (OS), wherein at least a portion of at least one of the IPS and the OS is integrated in a projectile.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 17, 2006
Date of Patent: January 19, 2010
    Assignee: Soreq NRC
    Inventors: Alex Pokryvailo, Shlomo Wald
  • Patent number: 7459806
Abstract: A high voltage magnetic compression modulator including a low-voltage part including an energy source connected to a primary winding of a pulsed transformer, and a high-voltage part including a secondary winding of the pulsed transformer connected to a capacitor, the capacitor being connected to a magnetic switch, the magnetic switch being connected to a load, characterized in that a unidirectional low-impedance path for the charge of the capacitor is connected in parallel to the load, and wherein said low impedance path includes a freewheeling diode.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 9, 2004
Date of Patent: December 2, 2008
    Assignee: Soreq Nuclear Research Center

  • Patent number: 6366251
Abstract: An antenna protection device for insertion between sections of an antenna for cutting the passage of low-frequency alternating electric current. The device comprises a non-linear capacitor with capacitor plates connected to the antenna sections. The non-linear capacitor is characterized by a negative low-frequency voltage coefficient, whereby the passage of a high frequency alternating current remains essentially unaffected.
