Abstract: A multi-merchant portal that enables a user to access e-commerce stores is provided. Each e-commerce store has respective merchant categories browsable by the user at a customer device through the portal, each merchant category comprising products available for purchase from a respective merchant. In response to receiving a request from the customer device to switch access of the user browsing a selected merchant category of the first merchant in a first e-commerce store, to a second e-commerce store, the portal determines a system category corresponding to the selected merchant category using mapping data mapping merchant categories to system categories and then determines a destination merchant category of the second merchant in the second e-commerce store corresponding to the determined system category using mapping data mapping the system categories to the merchant categories. The portal switches user's access to the destination merchant category in the second e-commerce store.

Abstract: Provided are a method and system for effecting a payment transaction. The method capturing a digital image of a price identifier and a merchant identifier at a client device. Generating payment request data by a payer application at the client device comprising data corresponding to the price and merchant identifiers contained in the digital image. Forwarding the payment request data from the payer application to a payment server. Initiating by the payment server a payment transaction from a payer account to a recipient account in response to receipt of the payment request data. Forwarding notification data to the payer application indicating the status of the payment transaction from the payment server.

Abstract: A smart refrigerator including a processor, a memory, and a user interface is described herein. The smart refrigerator is configured to receive user input of a nutritional objective from a user via the user interface, and receive user input of a grocery order including a plurality of grocery items via the user interface. The smart refrigerator is also configured to retrieve nutritional information associated with the plurality of grocery items, and compile a nutritional profile for the user from the retrieved nutritional information. The smart refrigerator is further configured to compare the nutritional profile to the nutritional objective to determine whether the user has met the nutritional objective, and release, when the user has met the nutritional objective, a reward to the user.

Abstract: A computer implemented method of processing a payment transaction is disclosed. The method comprises: receiving, in a payment processing server, an indication of an account associated with a payer; receiving, in the payment processing server, recipient identification information, the recipient identification information comprising an image of a recipient; determining, in a database search module of the payment processing server, an account associated with the recipient by searching a database using the recipient identification information; and initiating, in a transaction initiation module of the payment processing server, a payment transaction from the account associated with the payer to the account associated with the recipient.
