  • Publication number: 20180297229
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to processing a substrate including at least one sheet of paper, cardboard or carton by directing a jet stream of liquid nitrogen to a surface of the substrate via a jet nozzle; and by moving the jet nozzle at a distance from the surface. The jet stream can be unmodulated or modulated. For example, the jet stream can be modulated by a modulation unit such as to reduce the impact of the jet stream on the surface. In this way, the jet stream can be applied to score folding lines into the substrate. An unmodulated or on/off modulated jet stream can be applied to cut lines into the substrate. Thus, by applying an appropriate modulation to the jet stream, the processing can switch between cutting the substrate and scoring folding lines into the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20180275478
Abstract: One example of a display device includes an electronic paper display, a counter-electrode, a floating electrode, and a patterned layer. The electronic paper display is imageable by receiving charges on an imaging surface of the electronic paper display. The counter-electrode is opposite to the imaging surface of the electronic paper display. The floating electrode is capacitively coupled to the counter-electrode. The patterned layer on the floating electrode provides mechanical protection for the floating electrode while enabling an air discharge to the floating electrode.

  • Publication number: 20180152596
Abstract: In one example, halftone data comprising first data and second data representing a plurality of pixels in a halftone is generated. The first data associates a first subset of the plurality of pixels in the halftone with a first colorant, the first subset defining a first region in the halftone. The second data associates a second subset of the plurality of pixels in the halftone with a second colorant different from the first colorant, the second subset defining a second region in the halftone. The first subset of the plurality of pixels in the halftone and the second subset of the plurality of pixels in the halftone are mutually exclusive, and the first region is at least partially enclosed by the second region.
