  • Publication number: 20240130822
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing surgical sponges. A dispenser assembly coupled to a main support includes an internal or first storage location to removably receive a carton of sponge sorters, and an external or second storage location to removably support a carton of surgical draping. At least one arm may be supported on the housing and movable between an undeployed position and a deployed position. The arm may include weighing means to measure a weight of the surgical sponge being disposed in a sponge sorter supported by the arm. The arm may be a cantilever and abeam load cell may be disposed within a channel of a beam. A processor may determine fluid weight based on measured weight and dry weight correlated with the surgical sponge being counted out as detected with a data reader. The processor may estimate blood loss to be displayed on a display.

  • Publication number: 20160153260
Abstract: Methods are disclosed for providing zonal isolation of subterranian formations. One embodiment may include mixing a dry blended material with water at a central location to create a suspension, transferring the suspension to one or more storage tanks at the central location, transferring the suspension to one or more storage tanks at a rig site, recirculating the suspension in the one or more storage tanks at the rig site, and pumping the suspension into a well. Another embodiment may include mixing a dry blended material with water in one or more storage tanks at a rig site to create a suspension, recirculating the suspension in the one or more storage tanks at the rig site, and pumping the suspension into a well.

  • Publication number: 20160069478
Abstract: The invention provides improvements to the tensioner pads (513) which engage with the surface of elongate articles in tensioners such as used on offshore pipelaying and construction vessels to deploy products such as pipelines, cables and umbilicals, wherein tensioner pad assemblies (511) according to the invention may include; two or more tensioner pads and present a first tensioner pad to the product when in a first configuration and present a second tensioner pad to the product when in a second configuration; a split tensioner pad with a means (525) for controlling the separation between the portions (513i,513ii) of the pad; and combinations thereof. The invention allows a tensioner to accommodate products of different shapes, sizes and materials without having to swap tensioner pad assemblies.

  • Patent number: 5065801
Abstract: A duplicating device for use on a wood lathe includes a baseplate for mounting behind a lathe on a table carrying the lathe, a mirror pivot ally mounted on the baseplate, and a template carrier on the baseplate between the mirror and the lathe. A template, e.g. a finished spindle is mounted on the carrier, and a blank is mounted in the lathe. By visually aligning the blank and template on a line perpendicular to the mirror, the blank can be turned to reproduce the template design accurately.
