Patent number: 6585195Abstract: A curved telescoping trough assembly and method of assembly. The assembly includes first and second trough members. Each trough member includes two upstanding sidewalls extending from a base defining a generally U-shaped trough having an open top and a trough interior for receiving at least one telecommunications cable defining a cable pathway. The sidewalls or the base of the trough members may be curved to create a curved cable pathway. The first trough member having an end which slidably receives an end of the second trough member and a portion of the second trough member so that the trough members create a combined angled cable pathway. The size of the portion of the second trough member received by the first trough member is variable so that the trough assembly may be selectively set at a third angle from a range of angles.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2001Date of Patent: July 1, 2003Assignee: ADC Telecommunications, Inc.Inventors: Mike Wentworth, Thomas W. Patent number: 6575654Abstract: A flexible cable guide member and assembly, the assembly including first and second cable guide members each having a curved wall with open ends. The curved walls define first and second cable pathways respectively for receiving a telecommunications cable. A first end of the first guide member defines a socket. A second end of the second guide member is rounded to be received by the socket of the first guide member to produce a ball-and-socket joint between the first and second guide members. The second guide member is snap-fit into the socket of the first cable guide member. The guide members define longitudinal slots to allow cables to be added or removed from the assembly. The first and second guide members are preferably identical.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2001Date of Patent: June 10, 2003Assignee: ADC Telecommunications, Inc.Inventors: Michael John Wentworth, Alex Watts

Patent number: 6522823Abstract: A low profile cable exit trough including an arch-wall with a sidewall portion. A projecting member extends from a concave surface of the arch-wall and is spaced from the sidewall portion to receive a top end of an upstanding side of a lateral trough therebetween. The arch-wall passes through the plane occupied by the upstanding side of the lateral trough at a significant angle, i.e. greater than or equal to 15 degrees, in order to allow for a lower profile above the lateral trough.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 2000Date of Patent: February 18, 2003Assignee: ADC Telecommunications, Inc.Inventors: Michael J. Wentworth, Wayne Giesen, Brian L. Johnson, Wayne Albin Johnson, Thomas Walter Kampf, John Van Scoy, Alex Watts

Patent number: 6512875Abstract: A coupling and assembly for a cable routing system, the system having trough members with flanged ends. The coupling includes a U-shaped rib having a rail on an exterior surface of the rib. The coupling also includes a pivoting clamp pivotally coupled to the rib near a first end of the clamp so that the clamp may be pivoted between an open and a closed position. The clamp has a contoured clamping surface which is contoured to retain the flanged ends of adjacent troughs against the rail and the external surface of the rib when the pivoting clamp is in the closed position. The clamp also includes retention means which cooperate with retention means on the rib to releasably retain the clamp in its closed position.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2000Date of Patent: January 28, 2003Assignee: ADC Telecommunications, Inc.Inventors: Brian L. Patent number: 6470129Abstract: A modular cable management trough system and method of assembly. Cable management trough includes a trough body having first and second terminal ends, first and second upright walls extending between the first and second terminal ends, and a base wall between the first and second upright walls, extending between the first and second terminal ends. The first and second upright walls and the base wall define a generally U-shaped trough having an open top and a trough interior for receiving at least one telecommunications cable. The trough body defines a receiving channel at the first end of the trough body. The channel has upright portions along the first and second upright walls and a base portion along the base wall. The channel may slidably receive a flanged end of an adjacent trough section in order to couple the adjacent trough section to modular trough section.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 2000Date of Patent: October 22, 2002Assignee: ADC Telecommunications, Inc.Inventors: Michael J.
