Abstract: The invention relates to a method for causing a communication link to be established between a mobile communication terminal of a mobile radio network and a partner communication terminal of a communication network operating in accordance with the Internet Protocol. The mobile communication terminal is associated with a directory number of the mobile radio network and the partner communication terminal is associated with an IP address of the communication network. To cause a communication to be established between the mobile communication terminal and the partner communication terminal, a text message, sent out by the mobile communication terminal and containing the IP address, is received by a service node connected to the mobile radio network, and the service node sends a task message including the directory number and the IP address to the communication network. Thereupon, the communication link KV is established between the mobile communication terminal and the partner communication terminal.

In order to execute flexible and reliable settlement for short text messages, the short text message is transmitted from a short message transmission device to a communication terminal. When the short text message arrives at the communication terminal, a registration process is carried out with suppression of a display of the short message. A settlement message describing the registered short message is transferred from the communication terminal to a settlement unit, and the settlement unit accesses a credit available on the credit account. Upon successful debiting of a short message fee, a success message is transferred to the communication terminal, whereupon the short message can be displayed. Abstract: A method and system for transmitting short text information to a communications terminal in a communications network wherein, in order to enlarge the field of application for short text information in communications networks, the short text information is addressed using a communication address which is not linked to any specific communications terminal, and the communication address, which is not linked to any specific communications terminal, for the short text information is then used by an address converter at the network end to replace this address by a communication address for the communications terminal, and the short text information is transmitted to this communications terminal.
