  • Publication number: 20120230843
Abstract: A cooling system includes a cooling duct extending between a first component and a second component of a machine. A motor powered fan in the cooling duct creates an airflow in the duct. First and second temperature sensors are disposed to measure, respectively, first and second temperatures, which are associated with first and second temperature limits in first and second components. An electronic controller provides a motor command signal, receives the first and second temperatures, calculates first and second temperature differences to generate first and second blower commands based on the respective temperature differences, and calculates a feed-forward blower motor command based on a machine load factor. The electronic controller selects the greater of the first blower command, the second blower command, and the feed-forward blower command to be a maximum command, and determines and provides the motor command signal to the motor based on the maximum command.

  • Publication number: 20120116619
Abstract: The disclosure describes, in one aspect, a system for a machine having an electric drive configuration. The system includes a first motor associated with a first wheel, the first motor adapted to provide torque to drive the first wheel, a second motor associated with a second wheel, the second motor adapted to provide torque to drive the second wheel. The system further includes a controller adapted to determine a rotational speed of the first wheel, determine a rotational speed of the second wheel, determine a steering angle of the machine, compare the rotational speeds of the first and second wheels, and adjust the torque to the first wheel if the rotational speed of the first wheel is less than the rotational speed of the second wheel.

  • Publication number: 20070299569
Abstract: A technique for downloading data from a processor unit, such as an inverter control computer associated with a locomotive control system. When the software for the inverter control computer is originally built, a programmer assigns an ID number to all of the possible instrumentation signals that can be downloaded from the inverter control computer. From the complete list of the instrumentation signals, the programmer defines a default set of the instrumentation signals that are downloaded. If a user wishes to change the instrumentation signals that can be downloaded, then the user provides a command signal to the inverter control computer that changes the set of ID numbers of the instrumentation signals to be downloaded.
