Abstract: A fully adjustable, handlebar support apparatus is readily attachable to a hand held video or still camera or to another support device, such as a monopod or tripod and includes a flexible, articulating handle which may be grasped by the camera operator and selectively manipulated to exhibit an infinite range of possible contours to the flexible handle.

Abstract: A camera system includes a video camera having a first mating mechanism defined on a bottom, planar surface of the video camera. A battery assembly contains an energy cell and a first surface of the battery assembly is releasably engageable with the mounting mechanism such that the battery assembly is suspended beneath the video camera, with the bottom, planar surface of the video camera in substantial contact with the first surface. A support apparatus having a second mating mechanism is also provided, the second mating mechanism releasably engaging a second surface of the battery assembly.

Abstract: A dual power supply assembly for providing power to an electrical device includes a fuel cell and a battery in electrical communication with the fuel cell. The fuel cell and the battery act in tandem to supply power to the electrical device. Either the fuel cell of the battery may be removed from the dual power supply assembly without interrupting the continuous operation of the electrical device.

Abstract: A support assembly for supporting an optical recording device about an operator includes a shaft having a first distal end for mounting the optical recording device, and a second distal end for bearing against the back of the operator. A friction plate arm is slidably disposed on the shaft and pivotable movement of the friction plate selectively captures the operator between the friction plate and the second distal end, thus causing the friction plate to frictionally lock against said shaft.

Abstract: A lightweight collapsible, shoulder mounted camera support assembly for carrying a camcorder or camera and holding the same steady during operation has a front and rear portion for mounting a battery to counterbalance the weight of the camera or camcorder mounted on the front portion. The front and rear portions are collapsible or detachable to aid in transporting and carrying the shoulder mounted camera support. The front and rear portions are offset in such a way as to match the centerline of the camera with the centerline of the shoulder and thus aligned with the operator's eye. The front portion has an angular extension on which the camera or camcorder is mounted and is adjustable in at least one axis relative to the horizontal established by the support assembly.
