  • Publication number: 20240003782
Abstract: A method for monitoring the operation of a pump station comprising a tank for temporary storage of a liquid, an inlet for influent liquid, an outlet, and at least one pump configured for transporting the liquid away from the tank via the outlet. The method comprises steps. Monitoring an inflow of liquid to the tank during at least a part of a predetermined time period (T) and determining Inflow data (IN) representative of the inflow during T. Determining Pump Station Max Capacity data (PSMC) that is representative of the max capacity of pumped liquid from the tank during T. For T, determining a momentary Pump Station Capacity Utilization (PSCUM) based on IN and PSMC, using the overall formula PSCUM (%)=100*IN/PSMC. Determining a typical Pump Station Capacity Utilization (PSCUT) for the pump station based on at least one momentary PSCUM value.

  • Publication number: 20220170468
Abstract: A method for detecting the occurrence of snoring during operation of a machine configured for transporting liquid. The machine includes an impeller and an electric motor, operatively connected to a control unit. The method includes operating the machine in order to transport liquid on the condition that the instantaneous power of the machine is directed towards a set power level. The instantaneous power of the machine is allowed to fluctuate within a set power level range defined upwards by a max-factor times the set power level and defined downwards by a min-factor times the set power level. The method further includes determining the machine is snoring by the control unit when the instantaneous power of the machine is below a snoring level equal to a snoring-factor times the set power level by monitoring at least one of the operational parameters of power, current, or power factor of the machine.

  • Patent number: 10480518
Abstract: A method for controlling a pump arrangement comprising a pump having a motor and a control unit. The motor, when the pump is in an active state and the motor is driven in a first direction, is associated with a load factor that corresponds to an operating condition of the pump arrangement. The pump arrangement also includes a unit configured to monitor at least one operating parameter from which the load factor of the motor can be derived.

  • Patent number: 10465690
Abstract: A method for controlling a pump arrangement upon clogging. The arrangement includes a pump and a control unit. The pump includes a motor, and the control unit drives the motor. The motor during operation is associated with an operational parameter from which the motor torque may be derived. The operational parameter has a normal value PN during normal operation of the motor in a first direction. The method includes the steps of driving the motor in a first direction by the control unit, stopping the motor if a real value P of the operational parameter exceeds a predetermined clogging limit PI, driving the motor in an opposite second direction a predetermined flushing time TR by the control unit, and stopping the motor if the absolute value of the real value P of the operational parameter during the flushing time TR exceeds the absolute value of a first unfastening limit PL1.

  • Patent number: 9995293
Abstract: A method for automatic mutual alternation between an arbitrary number of pumps by the control of each individual pump, which makes use of a start condition for a state change from an inactive state of the pump into an active state of the pump to be performed, as well as makes use of a stop condition for a state change from the active state into the inactive state to be performed. The method includes a sub method (Find start condition) that includes the step of, after a predetermined stage, arbitrarily changing the start condition of the individual pump within predetermined limits.

  • Publication number: 20140369854
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling a pump arrangement comprising a pump (2) having a motor (7) and a control unit (6), said motor (7), when the pump (2) is in an active state and the motor (7) is driven in a first direction, being associated with a load factor that corresponds to an operating condition of the pump arrangement; the pump arrangement also comprising means for monitoring at least one operating parameter from which the load factor of the motor (7) can be derived.

  • Publication number: 20140119953
Abstract: A method for controlling at least a part of a pump station including a number of speed controlled pumps, the method is arranged to minimize the specific energy consumption Espec of at least a part of the pump station and includes a sub method, which in turn includes the steps of: obtaining input data, determining the mutual relative relationships between a first value A1 of a quantity corresponding to a first pump speed V1 and a second value A2 of the quantity corresponding to a second pump speed V2, and between a first specific energy consumption Espec1 and a second specific energy consumption Espec2, and determining a third value A3 of the quantity corresponding to a third pump speed V3.
