    Abstract: In one form, the present invention is a Batch Centrifugal Concentrator adapted to mitigate the adverse effects associated with dirty feedwater including a rotary bowl having means to clear solid particulate matter in a high velocity flow stream. In another form, the present invention is a seal assembly adapted for use with a batch centrifugal concentrator. The seal assembly including a non-rotating lower portion and a rotating upper portion. The non-rotating lower portion includes a water in/out port, and the rotating upper portion includes a water in/out port. Each port is interconnected by a conduit that is adapted to enable fluid to flow into, through and out of the seal assembly. A gap is provided between the said lower and upper portions. The stationary portion includes an air inlet port that is adapted to create and maintain a zone of positive pressure within said gap.

The solid-liquid slurry comprises granular carbon particles, ore pulp, and water. The carbon-in-pulp or carbon-in-leach process includes at least one retention tank. The measurement device including: a receptacle for receiving the sample volume of the slurry; a screen provided in the receptacle for separating out the desired solid component from a remainder of the slurry. The solid component is retained in the receptacle to form a bed therein and the remainder is exhausted from the receptacle. The sensor system measures in either the retained solid component, or the exhausted remainder, or both one of: pH; dissolved oxygen; pulp density or carbon content.

    Abstract: In one form of the present invention is an apparatus that is capable of periodically diverting at least a portion of a slurry flow from a processing facility and collecting it into a container, such as a bucket. The volume and weight of the collected sample can then be ascertained, and the bulk density of the sample can be derived, and the bulk density data can then be sent via wired or wireless communication means to the processing facility so that they can take steps to alter the characteristics of the slurry flow. In another form, of the present invention, the periodically collected sample from the slurry flow is collected via the apparatus for subsequent analysis in a laboratory.
