  • Publication number: 20190278715
Abstract: A system and method include managing, by a computing system, the memory assignments between a virtual and multiple physical memories based on deterministically realized distribution of the virtual memory over the multiple physical memories. The computing system can determine proportion values associated with the physical memories assigned to a virtual memory. The proportion values indicate the proportion of the total size of the memory allocated to the virtual memory is to be assigned to the physical memories.

  • Publication number: 20190278714
Abstract: A system and method include obtaining, by a computing system, mapping information mapping a plurality of virtual processors and a plurality of virtual memories included in the computing system to a plurality of physical processors and a plurality of physical memories in a physical resource, the plurality of physical processors having non-uniform memory access times to the plurality of physical memories. The system and method also include obtaining a first set of latency values associated with the non-uniform memory access times between the plurality of physical processors and the plurality of physical memories. The system and method further include generating a second set of latency values associated with access times between the plurality of virtual processors and the plurality of virtual memories based on the mapping information and the first set of latency values.

  • Patent number: 10133619
Abstract: Systems for self-configuring health monitoring instrumentation for clustered storage platforms. Master and slave health modules implement a health monitoring system in a clustered virtualization environment comprising a plurality of nodes of the cluster with an installed health module instance running on the nodes. The health module system may gather and analyze data on a node level and at a cluster level to manage the cluster. The cluster health module system observes I/O commands issued to, and I/O command responses returned from, a common storage pool. Health data is stored in the storage pool.

  • Publication number: 20180157674
Abstract: An architecture for implementing a distributed metadata system in a virtualization environment comprising a plurality of servers, wherein each server may access and operate upon the entirety of the metadata in the virtualization environment. In response to a request received at a server to operate upon the metadata, existing metadata associated with the request is read by the server. The server performs one or more updates based upon the retrieved metadata, and attempts to update the corresponding stored metadata. In some embodiments, attempting to update the stored metadata comprises reading the metadata again and comparing it to the originally retrieved metadata, and performing the update only if the newly retrieved metadata matches the originally retrieved metadata.
