  • Publication number: 20240045056
Abstract: A handheld underwater sonar system comprising a housing and a sonar transducer housed within the housing. The sonar transducer is configured to generate a sonar signal emittable in a forward direction with respect to the housing. The sonar system additionally comprises a light source housed within the housing. The light source is configured to generate light emittable in the forward direction. The sonar system further comprises a trigger assembly associated with the housing. The trigger assembly is configured to selectively activate the sonar transducer or the light source.

  • Patent number: 11350869
Abstract: An electronic device worn, such as a wrist-worn watch, able to generate and display an ECG image associated with the wearer's heart. The device includes electrically-conductive first and second contact points for conveying first and second signals. The first contact point is located on a bezel or a pushbutton of the electronic device that is physically touchable by the wearer. The second contact point is located on the bottom of the housing so as to physically contact the wearer's skin of the user's wrist when the device is worn. The electronic device may also receive location signals to determine a current location using an antenna at least partially formed by the bezel. A processing element may receive the first and second signals, generate an ECG waveform, and an ECG image based thereon. A display graphically presents the ECG image as a sequence or stream of ECG images.

  • Publication number: 20170238819
Abstract: A system, method, and device for monitoring a physiological characteristic of a user includes a wearable monitoring device including one or more LEDs configured to emit light toward a user's skin tissue and two or more sensors laterally disposed along a longitudinal axis of an extremity of a user. Each sensor generates a signal based on an intensity of received light from a location against or adjacent to the sensor where a pulse wave resulting from a user's heart beat passes. A processor calculates one or more physiological characteristics of the user, such as blood pressure or stress, based on the generated signal from each sensor and a lateral distance therebetween.

  • Patent number: 9513093
Abstract: An animal tracking device comprising a housing, a controller, a battery, an antenna, a sleeve, an elastic ring, and a prong. The housing encloses the controller and the battery and includes a flexible clip having a flexible neck, a latch on an inner side of the flexible clip, an elastic ring groove on an outer side of the flexible clip for receiving the elastic ring, and a latch release member extending from the outer side between the flexible neck and the elastic ring groove. The elastic ring retains the housing over the sleeve to retain the animal tracking device on an arrow shaft. The latch release member catches on an animal's hide and flexes the flexible clip out of engagement with the sleeve to release the animal tracking device from the arrow shaft. The prong embeds in the animal's hide and retains the animal tracking device on the animal.

  • Patent number: 8506686
Abstract: A reel-to-reel aerosol collection and storage system for capturing and storing a plurality of separate samples of aerosol particles using electrostatic precipitation technology for collecting such particles onto a tape mechanism for analysis at a future time. The particles are collected onto a region of the collection tape for a defined period of time and then that portion of the collection tape is advanced out of the collection zone and manipulated so as to form sealed pouches or pockets which can be either severed from the collection tape for individual storage in a temperature controlled storage container, or which can be stored on a take-up reel in a temperature controlled environment. The collected aerosol particles are stored with a buffer fluid to preserve and maintain the viability of the collected particles for future extraction and analysis. Several embodiments for forming sealed pouches or pockets and methods of storing the collected particles are disclosed.
