Patent number: 11026306Abstract: In a first aspect, the subject invention provides a variable-intensity light emitting diode (LED) module which includes: a first LED string having first and second ends, the first end being connected to a positive voltage terminal which is connectable to a positive voltage input of a direct current voltage source; a first terminal connected to a first resistor which is connected to the second end of the first LED string; and, a second terminal connected to a second resistor which is connected to the second end of the first LED string. The first and second resistors have different resistances. A negative voltage input of the direct current voltage source is selectively connectable to one of the first and second terminals, whereby, the intensity of light generated by the first LED string is determined by which of the first and second terminals is connected to the negative voltage input.Type: GrantFiled: January 2, 2019Date of Patent: June 1, 2021Assignee: SCOUT INDUSTRIES, INC.Inventor: Alexander Nicolaides

Publication number: 20130317890Abstract: A system coupled to one or more vending machines, such as soft drink vending machines, via a wireless data link can acquire operational vending data, for example sales data, hardware status, and product temperature. The system can compile data from multiple vending machines dispersed across a geographic area such as a city or state. The system can include software that refines the vending operations of one or more such vending machines based on analysis of acquired data, taking into consideration other information such as market, business, seasonal, or environmental factors. Refining vending operations can include adjusting product offerings, relocating vending machines, replicating favorable conditions, and addressing unexpected sales variations.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 6, 2013Publication date: November 28, 2013Inventors: Tomas Murray, Edward R. Jansson, Edward Irby Comer, Alexander Nicolaides, Juan Manuel Garcia Peralta
