Abstract: An introducer for an internal magnetic camera is provided. The introducer may be arranged to enable the camera to be placed inside of a body cavity through an otomy or incision and then oriented next to the tissue of the body cavity opposite an External Control Unit (“ECU”) outside of the body cavity. The camera may be retained in the introducer by a magnet or a magnetic material, by a selectively engageable retainer, or by covering the camera within a cavity. The camera may be retained in the introducer by a latch. The camera may include a keyed surface that only can align with a matching keyed surface on the retainer in a single orientation. The introducer may include a spring to eject the camera from the introducer when the retainer is disengaged.

Abstract: Devices and methods for manipulating and restraining non-target tissue during a surgical procedure are disclosed. In various forms, the device includes a body member that is configurable from a collapsed position wherein the device may be inserted into the body through a small opening to an expanded position wherein the device may be used to retaining engage the non-target tissue upon the application of suction thereto. Some embodiments have at least one ferromagnetic insert therein to enable the device to be magnetically manipulated and restrained by a controlled unit located outside of the patient's body.

Abstract: A surgical or diagnostic camera system is disclosed that has a disposable cap-like device that is structured for removal of adhesions while under direct visualization with the camera. The adhesion removal device may have an electrode on the tip that can be activated to enhance separation of tissues and may be configured to securely snap on to the housing of the camera system.

Abstract: A device for deploying fasteners including a handle and at least one actuator. The handle is connected to an elongated hollow housing having distal and proximal ends. The device has a first cartridge containing at least one fastener releasably connectable to the handle. The device also includes an elongated pusher movable through the hollow housing from the proximal to the distal end to deploy the fasteners. The device further includes a deforming member for deforming the pusher at a proximal end thereof while advancing the pusher to the distal end of the housing.
