  • Patent number: 7367924
Abstract: A method for controlling gear-shifting processes of a powershift gearbox which can be coupled to a drive motor and has gear steps including two friction clutches and a plurality of clutches, and at least one gearbox actuator for actuating the gear steps. The method includes the following steps: the torque of the drive motor is received by the new friction clutch associated with the new gear step to be engaged; before the disengagement of the old gear step and before or during the torque reception, a pre-determined pre-tensioning force is applied to the clutch of the old gear step by the gearbox actuator; and the old gear step is disengaged when the motor torque and the clutch torque are balanced.

  • Patent number: 7094176
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for carrying out gear shifting in a twin-clutch gearbox comprising at least two gearbox input shafts which are respectively coupled to the engine by means of a clutch. According to the invention, after recognizing a desire to change gear, the clutch associated with the active torque transmitting gearbox input shaft is opened until the slip limit is reached and the engine torque is controlled according to the type of shifting in order to achieve the vehicle acceleration desired by the driver.

  • Patent number: 7080569
Abstract: A powershift transmission is proposed using two transmission paths, a friction clutch being assigned to each transmission path and the transmission paths being coupleable to an output shaft for torque transmission. The transmission has a device that detects the clutch torque transmitted by the friction clutch of the active transmission path, which is coupled to the output shaft, and, when the clutch torque falls below threshold value, initiates a disengagement of the active gear ratio.

  • Patent number: 7062986
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are taught for controlling the operation of a power train in a motor vehicle (1), which may include controlling a clutch actuating mechanism (20) so as to open a clutch (3) in a vehicle pull mode. Then, a transmission (4) may be changed from a first gear position to a second gear position via a neutral position by moving a transmission actuator. At or about the same time, the ignition angle of a spark-ignited combustion engine (2) is preferably shifted during the gear change step to cause the combustion engine to generate a negative engine torque. As a result, engine speed is decreased when the transmission is disposed in the neutral position and a desired engine torque can be rapidly realized as soon as the transmission actuator is disposed in the second gear position. Thereafter, the clutch is closed again.

  • Publication number: 20060096398
Abstract: To improve the safety of automated gearboxes, it is proposed that terminal positions of internal gearshift members and external actuation members be so defined separately from each other that one can recognize whether the engagement of a speed is accompanied by the attainment of a terminal position of an internal gearshift member or an external actuation member. Error analysis is possible in this way. For dual clutch gears, it is additionally proposed that one can, at least in gearshift operations that are critical in terms of safety, disengage on speed of a subgear in a separate procedure, before a new speed of this subgear can be engaged.
