  • Patent number: 8843192
Abstract: A breast coil arrangement for magnetic resonance applications has a placement web that allows an examination subject to lie with her sternum on the placement web with each breast in a receptacle respectively on opposite sides of the placement web. The breast receptacles have limiting elements whose spacing from one another can be adjusted. Multiple array coils are respectively arranged in the limiting elements and are stationary relative to the limiting elements. Each breast receptacle is surrounded by a volume coil that is stationary relative to the placement web. The volume coils are arranged centrally and orthogonally relative to the array coils and surround the array coils. The volume coils are decoupled from the array coils. A spectroscopy phantom can be arranged in proximity to the placement web.

  • Patent number: 8262298
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method for repairing a damaged composite fiber component of an aircraft having at least one integrated fiber optic, the damaged area including both a damaged composite structure and a damaged optical fiber, comprising mechanically removing material from the damaged area, to form a removed area, exposing ends of the damaged composite fiber component in an edge area of the removed area, splicing-in a bridging fiber optic portion for restoring an optical connection, laying the bridging fiber optic along an edge area of the removed area, and pressing and gluing-in a repair patch into the removed area.

  • Publication number: 20100140217
Abstract: The invention relates to a method that is particularly suitable for the repair of damaged composite fibre components with integrated fibre optics on aircraft. The method involves: a) pre-treating damaged area, in particular by mechanical removal of material, at least in certain areas; b) disclosing fibre optic in an edge area of damaged area, in particular by a chemical etching process, c) splicing in a bridging fibre optic for restoring the optical connection; and d) gluing in and/or over a repair patch. The invention also relates to a device with two containers connected by a valve and a contact body connected by a flexible pipe to second container. The container contains an acid for carrying out the actual etching process, and second container is filled with lye for neutralising the acid after completion of the etching process.

  • Publication number: 20100099978
Abstract: A breast coil arrangement for magnetic resonance applications has a placement web that is designed to allow an examination subject to lie with her sternum on the placement web. Pot-like breast receptacles for each breast of the examination subject are respectively arranged on opposite sides of the placement web.
