  • Publication number: 20230311985
Abstract: A steering device for a vehicle, having a rack which is mounted so as to be displaceable in a direction of a longitudinal axis of the rack, having a pinion, wherein the rack meshes with the pinion, having a pressing mechanism, wherein the rack is pressed against the pinion by the pressing mechanism, and having a sensor mechanism. The sensor mechanism is designed at least for measuring a compressive force. To detect or measure a rack force of the rack reliably and/or easily, the steering device is characterized in that a compressive force component directed radially to the longitudinal axis of the rack can be detected or measured by the sensor mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20090211836
Abstract: A hydraulic servo-steering device includes a pump and a pump drive motor. At least one defined high power stage (C) and one defined low power stage (B) are provided in which the motor is selectively operated. Moreover, a defined additional power stage (A) is provided for the motor, in which the speed of the motor is reduced with respect to the low power stage (B). According to a method for controlling the pump drive motor of the hydraulic servo-steering device, the motor is operated in the additional power stage (A) under certain conditions which rule out an impairment to driving safety.

  • Patent number: 6138789
Abstract: To improve a rack and pinion steering of the generic type to reduce noise development upon opening of the pressure-relief bore as well as in steady-state operation, the invention proposes that at least one filter element forming a flow resistance be inserted between the additional bore and the pressure connection.
