  • Patent number: 8097555
Abstract: Process for the production of hybrid catalysts formed by mixing two catalysts; one active in Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, the other being bifunctional. Such hybrid catalyst thus formed is active both in hydrocracking and in hydroisomerization reactions. The present invention in addition provides obtainment of a hybrid catalyst and application thereof conjointly with FT catalysts in Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reactions. The hybrid catalyst of the present invention is capable of producing in conditions typically such as those utilized in Fischer-Tropsch synthesis branched hydrocarbons in diverse bands relating to the products thereof (for example naphtha and diesel), reducing or even eliminating necessity for a subsequent hydrotreatment stage in such synthesis reactions.

  • Publication number: 20110207984
Abstract: Additives for mixing with the catalyst inventory in process units for fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) for maximizing the production of LPG and light olefins are described. Said additives comprise a matrix that incorporates a zeolite of type MFI, preferably zeolite ZSM-5, a zeolite of type Y, and a source of phosphorus, in a single particle. Mixing of the additive in proportions from 1.0 to 40 wt. % with the equilibrium catalyst of an FCC unit maximizes the production of LPG and light olefins, chiefly propylene.

  • Publication number: 20090099006
Abstract: The present, invention relates to a process for the production of additives for catalysts for fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) based on zeolite that is selective for light olefins, with the aim of increasing the yields, in FCC units, of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and light olefins, of high added value, among others propene and isobutene. This invention provides a method of preparation of catalytic compositions, starting from zeolite modified with phosphate and alkaline-earth metal, that leads to the production of an additive with better performance than the additives, of similar compositions, obtained by other methods of the prior art. The process can be regarded as a development in relation to other processes, as it promotes interaction between the zeolite that is selective for light olefins and its activator, reagent “X”. For this, a separate stage is used during the sequence of stages in the preparation.

  • Patent number: 6756029
Abstract: A process for preparing molecular sieves of type Y faujasite structure is described, as well as pre-shaped bodies of faujasite structure type Y molecular sieves. The process comprises preparing a precursor gel from a source of silica-alumina or a source of alumina and a source of silica with a template agent at a SiO2/Al2O3 greater than 7 and suitable for forming a type Y zeolite, drying the precursor gel and contacting the dried precursor gel with steam, optionally followed by caustic washing, without the formation of crystalline phases other than type Y zeolite being observed. Advantageously, the pre-shaped bodies prepared with the precursor gel of Y zeolite, when subjected to the process of the invention, will have their outer surface covered by type Y zeolite crystals. The molecular sieves so obtained may be employed as catalysts or adsorbents in various processes of the chemical or oil industry.
