  • Patent number: 11383024
Abstract: A system for providing multiple infusions to a patient (P), the system comprises a multiplicity of infusion devices (10) for administering a multiplicity of medical fluids through an infusion line (102) of an infusion set (103) to the patient (P), and a control device (2) for controlling the multiplicity of infusion devices (10). Herein, the control device (2) comprises a multiplex module (22) configured to multiplex the multiplicity of medical fluids for a multiplexed administration of the medical fluids through said infusion line (102) of the infusion set (103), the multiplex module (22) comprising a scheduling module (222) configured to define at least two packets, each packet comprising at least one medical fluid out of the multiplicity of medical fluids, and to arrange the at least two packets in a sequence for administration of the medical fluids of the at least two packets.

  • Patent number: 11383032
Abstract: A method for performing a continuous infusion process includes delivering a first fluid through a first delivery line at a first flow rate using a first infusion device in a first phase, and delivering a second fluid through a second delivery line at a second flow rate using a second infusion device in a second phase following the first phase. A relay device connected to said first and second delivery lines configured to discharge first or second fluid to an outlet delivery line connected to the relay device, the outlet delivery line having a predefined delivery volume. Subsequent to the delivery of the first fluid in the first phase, the second infusion device in an intermediate phase is operated for a predetermined delivery time to deliver the second fluid at the first flow rate, the predetermined delivery time determined taking the predefined delivery volume into account.

  • Patent number: 11167084
Abstract: The invention relates to a control device for controlling the administration of propofol to a patient according to the preamble of claim 1 and to a method for controlling the administration of propofol to a patient according to the preamble of claim 4. With a method of this kind a bispectral index (BIS) target value is set which shall be, at least approximately, reached within a patient. A controller then computes a recommended infusion rate of propofol based on the target BIS value and further based on a measured propofol level of the patient for administering propofol to the patient.

  • Patent number: 10525199
Abstract: In a method for controlling the administration of insulin to a patient, a target glucose level is set and a controller computes a recommended infusion rate based on the target glucose level and a measured glucose level of a patient for administering insulin to the patient. The controller uses a controller gain for computing the recommended infusion rate. Herein, an insulin sensitivity of the patient is determined using a mathematical model taking into account the measured glucose level and an actual infusion rate of insulin administered to the patient and, based on the insulin sensitivity, the controller gain of the controller is determined. In this way a method for controlling the administration of insulin to a patient is provided which in a reliable, computationally efficient manner allows for maintaining a patient's blood glucose level at or around a desired target glucose level.

  • Publication number: 20180185574
Abstract: A method for performing a continuous infusion process using at least two infusion devices (1A, 1B) comprises the steps of: delivering a first fluid (M1) from a first medication container (100A) through a first delivery line (11A) at a first flow rate (F1) using a first infusion device (1A) in a first phase; and delivering a second fluid (M2) from a second medication container (100B) through a second delivery line (11B) at a second flow rate (F2) using a second infusion device (1B) in a second phase following the first phase.

  • Publication number: 20160089494
Abstract: In a method for controlling the administration of insulin to a patient (P) a target glucose level (T) is set and a controller (10) computes a recommended infusion rate (R) based on the target glucose level (T) and a measured glucose level (G) of a patient (P) for administering insulin to the patient (P). The controller (10) comprises a controller gain (K) for computing the recommended infusion rate (R). Herein, an insulin sensitivity (IS) of the patient (P) is determined by means of a mathematical model taking into account the measured glucose level (G) and an actual infusion rate (IR) of insulin administered to the patient (P) and, based on the insulin sensitivity (IS), the controller gain (K) of the controller (10) is determined. In this way a method for controlling the administration of insulin to a patient is provided which in a reliable, computationally efficient manner allows for maintaining a patient's blood glucose level at or around a desired target glucose level.
