    Abstract: The invention concerns an electrostatic ionic emission device for depositing on the surface of a plurality of particles aerosols within a fluid, a quasi-homogeneous amount of ions. The device includes a discharge corona conductive electrode, and a non-corona conductive receptor electrode. The receptor electrode has an open cellular foam structure and a pseudo planar active surface that faces the discharge electrode. The active surface of the receptor electrode has a multiplicity of substantially sharpened points.
