  • Patent number: 10546148
Abstract: Provided are methods and systems for generating user-specific resource URIs for resources shared between users on the Internet. The user for whom the link was created and to whom the link was sent may use the link to access a shared resource; however, the link may not be used by any other user to do the same. No data needs to be created and/or stored on the server-side as a result of the link being provided to the user. Instead, by creating this customized/individualized link for the user, the particular user (and only the particular user) is being granted access to the shared resource. The methods and systems provided obviate the need to maintain any configuration data on the server side, thereby protecting against the possibility of the individualized URIs being forged by an intruder, while preserving the need for the accessing user to be authenticated.

  • Patent number: 9094225
Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, implementing and using techniques for identifying currently dominant events in a computer system. Live computer network traffic including current events is monitored on the computer network. A subset of monitored events is selected. Event records are created for the subset of events. The event records include timestamps indicating when the event record was adjusted and counts indicating the popularity of an event when the event record was adjusted. Older events have lower counts relative to newer events. A first set of event records identifying currently dominant events is stored in a first priority queue on a computer and is cached in a cache on the computer. A second set of event records identifying currently not dominant events is stored in a second priority queue on the computer and is not cached.

  • Publication number: 20140188919
Abstract: Methods, program products, and systems for performing a first plurality of computations on non rendered versions of first and second markup language documents to determine a first plurality of signals, each signal in the first plurality of signals representing a comparison of attributes for the non rendered versions of the first and second documents. A second plurality of computations are performed on rendered versions of the first and second markup language documents to determine a second plurality of signals, each signal in the second plurality of signals representing a comparison of attributes for the rendered versions of the first and second documents. The first plurality of signals and the second plurality of signals are combined to determine a confidence as to whether the first and second documents are duplicates.

  • Patent number: 8082342
Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, implementing and using techniques for identifying currently dominant events in a computer system. Events in the computer system are monitored. A subset of the monitored events is selected. Priorities are assigned to the events in the subset of monitored events. The priorities are generated through applying a mathematical formula to each event in the subset of events, which mathematical formula discounts old events relative to recent events. A first set of priorities is stored in a first priority queue. The first set of priorities identifies the currently dominant events in the subset of monitored events.
