  • Publication number: 20130262281
Abstract: A payment provider receives, from a user device, a request to process a dispute with a merchant for a purchase transaction, selection of an e-receipt for the disputed transaction, selections of items on the e-receipt to be disputed, and a dispute reason for each disputed item. The e-receipt may be provided either by the payment provider for the user's selection or by the user. The payment provider determines, from the e-receipt selected, information on the merchant, a description and an amount of purchase for each disputed item, and prepopulates the description and amount of purchase for each disputed item when the user requests the dispute processing. Utilizing the merchant information, and the description, the amount of purchase and the dispute reason for each disputed item, the payment provider processes the dispute with the merchant. The payment provider may inform the user of the status of the dispute processing.
