  • Patent number: 7748397
Abstract: An assembly of two components configured to be in contact with hydrocarbons, and a fuel tank including the assembly. The assembly includes a casing or a retaining member fastened to the casing, each of the two components including at least one fastening part configured to interact, and at least one of the components being made from a material configured to swell through action of the hydrocarbons, thus reinforcing retention of the components on one another. A method for manufacturing such a tank includes assembling the two components in the absence of fuel, and then bringing the two components into contact with the fuel.

  • Patent number: 7290675
Abstract: A method of making a tank out of blown, thermoformed, or rotomolded thermoplastic material, the method comprising the following steps: making a portion in relief on the inside of the tank, said portion in relief enabling an attachment to be mounted inside the tank and defining a permanent housing for receiving at least a portion of said attachment, the portion in relief being made: either by implementing the following steps: a) placing at least one insert inside an enclosure; b) inserting the material that is to form the wall of the tank inside the enclosure; and c) forming the wall of the tank by blowing, thermoforming, or rotomolding, the insert being positioned inside the enclosure in such a manner that while the wall is being formed, it covers the insert at least in part, the insert also being of a shape that is selected in such a manner that said wall, by taking on at least part of the shape of the insert, constitutes said portion in relief; or else by mounting a mounting member on the wall of the

  • Publication number: 20050284872
Abstract: A method provides a tank out of blown, thermoformed, or rotomolded thermoplastic material with a portion in relief for enabling mounting of an attachment inside the tank. The method includes making the portion in relief on the inside of the tank, the portion in relief enabling an attachment to be mounted inside the tank. The portion in relief is made by mounting a mounting member on the wall of the tank. Preferred mounting is by heat-sealing. The wall of the tank includes at least a layer of thermoplastic material and preferably includes a layer that forms a barrier against hydrocarbons. A tank with a portion in relief mounted on an inside wall is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6626156
Abstract: A fuel tank valve for connection to a degassing circuit (15), the valve comprising a moving closure member and means (11) capable of being controlled from outside the tank (2) to act on the closure member (10) to bring it into a predetermined position when the vehicle is in a predetermined state, the valve being characterized by the fact that the closure member is suitable for rising by floating on the surface of the fuel.

  • Patent number: 6575190
Abstract: A non-return valve for a fuel tank, the valve comprising a substantially tubular body and a deformable shutter member fixed to said body, said shutter member being formed integrally by molding a plastics material and being shaped in such a manner as to return under its own elasticity into a shut position, with the valve body serving as a seat, whenever the shutter member is at rest and the pressure of fuel is no longer sufficient to overcome the elastic return action of the shutter member.

  • Patent number: 6557719
Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel tank comprising a vessel for containing fuel and a system for evacuating the gases contained in the vessel. The system has a passage putting the inside of the vessel into communication with the outside of the vessel, and the passage is closed by a membrane suitable for allowing air and fuel vapor to pass therethrough while preventing liquid fuel from passing therethrough. The membrane is situated inside the vessel and it extends over the major portion of the top wall of the vessel.

  • Patent number: 6499500
Abstract: A motor vehicle fuel tank comprising a shell and inside the shell at least one add-on element such as a valve. Said shell presents a portion in relief and an add-on element is connected to the shell by means of an intermediate element having at least one elastically-deformable portion arranged to be connected after elastic deformation in or on said portion in relief, so as to hold the intermediate element to the shell. The add-on element is arranged to be connected to the intermediate element in such a manner as to prevent the elastically-deformable portion of the intermediate element from being subjected to inverse elastic deformation enabling it to become disengaged from said portion in relief.

  • Patent number: 6412511
Abstract: A fuel tank valve for connection to a degassing circuit to define a passage for a flow of gas leaving the tank, the valve being characterized by the fact that it has at least one moving member (18; 55) capable of being controlled in displacement to modify the configuration of said valve (1; 42), and by the fact that the valve has a first moving closure element (26; 65) having an orifice (29; 67) and suitable for being moved by the moving member (18; 55) from a first position towards a second position, the transition from the first position to the second position reducing the flow section made available to the flow of gas.
