  • Patent number: 10061063
Abstract: A camera arrangement for a vehicle includes a camera and a prism. The camera is arranged behind a windshield of the vehicle. The prism is positioned between the windshield and the camera and is coupled to the windshield by a coupling medium. The prism has a light entry surface facing the windshield and a light exit surface facing an optical imaging component of the camera. The light entry surface and/or the light exit surface is non-flat by which the prism at least partially compensates for refraction resulting from curvature of the windshield.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 24, 2014
Date of Patent: August 28, 2018
Assignee: Leopold Kostal GmbH & Co. KG
Inventors: Frank Blaesing, Alf Burau, Andreas Pirchner, Thomas Weber, Gregor Boehne, Frank Hagen, Claudia Weber

  • Patent number: 7081720
Abstract: A method for driving an electroluminescent lamp to emit light at a brightness set level includes providing a variable bias voltage to the electroluminescent lamp. The variable bias voltage is increased with the duration of the on-time of the electroluminescent lamp. To stabilize the electroluminescent lamp at the brightness set level against aging, a closed loop control of the brightness of the electroluminescent lamp is applied, which is subject to said duration of the on-time the electroluminescent lamp.

  • Publication number: 20040089219
Abstract: The invention relates to an indicating instrument (1) which comprises a pointer, situated in front of a dial (2). Light is coupled into the axis (5) of the pointer. The light is guided into the pointer vane (3) by a deviating prism (8). The invention provides that in order to prevent a visible halo from appearing on the dial (2), around the axis (5), the light that is coupled into said axis (5) is UV light which is only converted into visible light in the pointer vane (3), by the luminescent material (10) that is present there.
