  • Patent number: 5529099
Abstract: A filling machine for pasty or viscous products, especially fruit products and particularly a multirow filling machine for producing assortments of the packaged product, has for each row at least one metering or dosing station in which the metering piston is displaceable in a cylinder formed directly in the metering housing and adjacent a valve cylinder in which the valve member is provided. The valve member and piston are guided directly on the wall of the respective cylinders in this housing while the respective piston rods and stem extend upwardly through easily replaceable seals accessible from an observation space above the housing.

  • Patent number: 5251423
Abstract: A filling and closing machine for the packaging of comestibles in plastic cups having different wall thicknesses has, in addition to the sterilizing chamber in which the cups are subjected to contact with H.sub.2 O.sub.2 vapor followed by hot sterile air for the final sterilization, a presterilization chamber in which the cups are contacted with H.sub.2 O.sub.2 -containing air from the sterilizing chamber.

  • Patent number: 5001886
Abstract: A packaging machine having a sterile tunnel is provided with an outlet gate at the downstream end into which a ram lifts the filled cups. Since the gate opening is always partly obstructed by a cup and as each cup is lifted into the opening by the limited stroke of the ram a cup previously obstructing the opening is removed, the losses of air through the opening are limited and pressure fluctuations in the tunnel are reduced.

  • Patent number: 4987721
Abstract: Cups or lids for packaging foodstuffs and the like in a sterile environment are sterilized in the packaging machine by passing them through a sterilizing chamber to be contacted first by the hydrogen peroxide and then by hot air. The packaging elements are initially moved apart rapidly and are than brought toward one another without contact, periodically in the sterilizing chamber to improve the contact of the sterilizing and drying fluid with the surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4804322
Abstract: The invention relates to a deep-drawing machine for manufacturing containers out of thermoplastic foil by means of a cutting device which includes a banderole arrangement for manufacturing banderoles, labels or the like and includes inserting such into hollow molds of a forming arrangement. For the purpose of simultaneously inserting a large number of banderoles, labels or the like into the hollow molds and for the additional purpose of an easy access to the banderole arrangement and the forming arrangement, and for the purpose of independently driving these two arrangements, the banderole arrangement together with the cutting device is constructed separately from the forming arrangement and there is provided a transfer arrangement between the forming arrangement and the banderole arrangement in the form of a rotatable dish whose axis of rotation is essentially parallel to the longitudinal axes of the hollow molds.

  • Patent number: 4622800
Abstract: According to the method of the invention the packing means, for example yoghurt containers, are introduced into a sterilizing chamber, which is sealed. The interior of the chamber is then evacuated and then pressurized steam is intoduced into it. This leads to a temperature rise and consequently to a sterilization of the packing means. The steam is only introduced for a brief period, e.g. for 5 seconds. The sterilizing chamber is then evacuated again and steam and condensate are removed. Cold sterile air is then blown into the chamber, which leads to a fast cooling of the packing means.

  • Patent number: 4566591
Abstract: The invention relates to a multiple packaging system for a plurality of containers having edge flanges and being closable with covers, which containers are held together with a connecting element made of a flat cut-out. The cut-out is raised from underneath the containers to the underside of the edge flanges and is firmly attached to a cover sheet which makes up the covers. In addition, there are punched-out flaps in the cutout which can be inserted into one another to form a support structure between individual containers so that the stability of the multiple packaging system is improved.
