  • Patent number: 6290593
Abstract: A circuit for power supply of a ventilation fan for cooling the interior of a motor vehicle and/or a motor vehicle battery by means of solar cells, with a manually actuated switch for switching the solar cell power supply to the ventilation fan or battery. An automatic control provides a fully automatic mode for automatic switching of the solar cell power supply depending on the temperature in the motor vehicle interior and/or the battery charging state which can be overridden by activating an actuating element of a manually activated switch in a semiautomatic mode. Furthermore, there is an optical display for indicating which of the automatic and semiautomatic mode is activated.

  • Patent number: 5545261
Abstract: Solar roof for motor vehicles with a solar generator having solar cells for supplying power to a power consumer and/or a battery and with a D.C. converter for impedance matching between the solar generator and the consumer and/or battery. The D.C. converter is a flat module and is integrated into the solar cell carrying roof panel.

  • Patent number: 5417624
Abstract: An actuating device for a locking brake of a motor vehicle includes a reversible electric motor which drives a threaded spindle with a serrated coarse screw thread through a preferably self-locking gear connection. A spur lever having a spur which engages the screw thread is connected to a force-transmitting member which actuates the tensioning element of the locking brake. The electric motor and threaded spindle turn in one direction to set the locking brake and in the opposite direction to release the locking brake. The actuating device also includes a manually operated handbrake lever which can pivot about an axis spaced from and transverse to the longitudinal direction of the spur lever and the force-transmitting member. When the handbrake lever is pulled, an actuating lever pivotally mounted on the same axis causes the spur lever to pivot toward the brake-locking position.

  • Patent number: 5259814
Abstract: A process for ventilating the interior of a motor vehicle having a closure which can be opened by a drive motor, an interior temperature-setpoint value generator, at least one interior temperature sensor, at least one outside temperature sensor and a logic component with inputs, outputs and a computer portion. Existing components (sensors, logic components) of different units are used and operatively linked so that the driver is largely relieved of the need to manipulate numerous controls.

  • Patent number: 5238447
Abstract: A process for cooling the interior of a motor vehicle and a roof system for its performance which has a roof part that can be opened by an electric motor. As a function of the interior temperature and an interior setpoint temperature, an automatic moving of the roof part that can be opened into a first open position takes place, in which a large roof opening is created. Time-dependent or as an alternative to this, when the temperature is less than a lower threshold temperature, an automatic moving of the roof part that can be opened into a second open position takes place, in which a smaller roof opening is created. The process and roof system enable quick removal of a build-up of heat when getting in the vehicle and in the beginning phase of a drive.

  • Patent number: 5211073
Abstract: A rotating shaft has a ball bearing axially fixed on the shaft with a recess formed in the outer race. A detent device, urged radially toward the recess, cooperates with inclined flanks on axially opposite sides of the recess to produce a counterforce in response to axial displacement of the shaft without generating significant friction caused by rotation of the shaft. The detent device may have a spherical tip received in a conical or groove-shaped recess or it may be a rotatable roller received in a transversely oriented groove in the outer race.

  • Patent number: 5147006
Abstract: In the representative embodiments described in the specification, a cup-shaped clutch drive member, driven by a drive pinion, rotates about an axially displaceable output shaft. Friction disks alternately coupled to the drive member and the shaft are pressed together to actuate the clutch. To apply actuating pressure to the friction disks without requiring excessive shaft motion, a pressure plate is mounted on the shaft and two pressure-generating members, interposed between the pressure plate and the friction members, have facing surfaces which are oppositely inclined with respect to the clutch axis. The pressure-generating member closest to the friction disks is angularly coupled to the drive member while the other pressure-generating member is free to rotate but held axially captive in the drive member.
