  • Publication number: 20230176203
Abstract: To track an object with radar, and achieve greater than range resolution precision, the phase of a difference signal can be utilized and adjusted as the tracked object crosses between resolution ranges. Changes in the object's distance can be detected with greater than range resolution precision by utilizing the phase. Such changes can iteratively inform the determined distance across multiple phase cycles within a single distance range. As the movement of the object approaches, and then crosses, between resolution ranges, the phase as determined within an origin resolution range can be compared with a coincident phase within the destination resolution range and the difference can then be utilized to adjust the phase as the object then remains within the destination resolution range. Such phase adjustments can be applied across multiple resolution ranges, allowing for the tracking of an object, utilizing radar, while achieving greater than range resolution precision.

  • Patent number: 8751220
Abstract: Various embodiments of multiple microphone based pitch detection are provided. In one embodiment, a method includes obtaining a primary signal and a secondary signal associated with multiple microphones. A pitch value is determined based at least in part upon a level difference between the primary and secondary signals. In another embodiment, a system includes a plurality of microphones configured to provide a primary signal and a secondary signal. A level difference detector is configured to determine a level difference between the primary and secondary signals and a pitch identifier is configured to clip the primary and secondary signals based at least in part upon the level difference. In another embodiment, a method determines the presence of voice activity based upon a pitch prediction gain variation that is determined based at least in part upon a pitch lag.

  • Publication number: 20100070659
Abstract: Aspects of a method and system for operating and/or charging a battery powered USB device based on a USB port type are provided. In this regard, in a USB device comprising a power management IC and a multi-function IC, a port type detection module in the multi-function IC may determine whether the USB device is attached to a standard host port or a charging port. Additionally, a power source in the power management IC, which may supply power to the port type detection module, may be enabled upon attachment of the USB device to a USB port and disabled subsequent to determination of port type. Also, one or more portions and/or functions of the power management IC may be configured based on the determined port type. Similarly, one or more portions and/or functions of the multi-function IC may be enabled or disabled based on the determined port type.

  • Publication number: 20090319260
Abstract: Methods and systems for audio transmit processing in an audio CODEC are disclosed and may comprise receiving one or more analog and/or digital audio signals, and simultaneously processing the received one or more analog audio and/or digital audio signals via a plurality of processing paths of the audio CODEC. The digital audio signals may be generated via a digital microphone, which may comprise a microelectromechanical (MEMS) microphone, and may be utilized for audio beamforming. The received analog and digital signals may be processed at one or more sampling rates, and may be filtered via decimation filters. The received analog signals may be converted to digital signals. The processing may comprise converting a sampling rate of the received digital signals and the converted analog signals. The processing may comprises filtering of the received digital signals and the converted analog signals via infinite impulse response (IIR) filters.
