  • Patent number: 8783740
Abstract: A security lock has first and second components with first base and extension flanges. The first extension flange extends perpendicular from the first base flange, and has a button extending from the first extension flange opposite the base. The second component has second base and extension flanges. The second extension flange extends hingedly from the second base flange, and has a longitudinal central slot extending therefrom for receiving the button. An apparatus for locking first and second extension flanges relative to one another and lock a door in at least two partially opened positions relative to a corresponding door jam.

  • Patent number: 5392523
Abstract: A gable mason's tool is provided for suitable insertion into wet mortar between a first course and a second course of bricks, wherein both courses are vertically below the last course of bricks so as to enable a brick mason to establish a horizontal guideline above the last course of bricks, the guideline extending from one side of the tool. A plate member for insertion into wet mortar is provided having a front wall, a rear wall and a side wall. A tensioner is provided for selectively stretching the guideline from being slack to a desired level of tautness. A reel is provided for selectively winding and unwinding the guideline such that the guideline winds around the reel as the guideline is being stretched to the desired tautness.

  • Patent number: 4374599
Abstract: A first stationary flange is supported from the free swinging edge of a door and projects outwardly of the opening side of the door. A second pivoted flange is mounted from the doorjamb opposing the stationary flange and is swingable, about an axis generally paralleling the axis of pivotal movement of the door, between an operative position paralleling and closely opposing the stationary flange and a retracted position disposed normal to and projecting away from the stationary flange. The stationary flange includes a stop pin projecting toward the second flange and the latter includes openings spaced therealong in which the pin may be selectively engaged to lock the door against swinging movement. The pin is retractable away from the pivoted flange and the latter is mounted for limited shifting along its pivot axis.

  • Patent number: 4348815
Abstract: A pair of first and second elongated arms are provided and the arms include corresponding base and free ends. Pivot structure is provided and pivotally connects the base ends of the arms together for relative 360.degree. angular displacement and the pivot structure and second arm include coacting structure whereby the axis of relative pivoting of the first and second arms may be adjustably shifted along the second arm. Also, the first and second arms include coacting latch structure whereby the arms, in at least one predetermined position of the pivot structure along the second arm, may be releasably secured in a plurality of relatively angularly displaced positions.

  • Patent number: 4327501
Abstract: Mounting structure is provided for support from one side of an elongated body of a carpenter's level having a window extending transversely therethrough and opening through the aforementioned one side of the body. The mounting structure pivotally supports one end of an elongated arm from a first end of the body for swinging between a first position in superposed parallel relation to the aforementioned one side of the body and a second position with the arm projecting at 90.degree. relative to the body. The window in the body has a spirit level mounted therein and the arm includes a portion thereof in registry with the window having an opening formed therethrough. Also, the mounting structure and arm include coacting first latch portions for releasably retaining the arm in the second extended position thereof and second coacting latch portions for releasably retaining the arm in the first position thereof.
