  • Patent number: 4751583
Abstract: A portable electronic still camera and image previewing and processing system for electronically imaging and recording images at the situs of objects and documents to be photographed and copied. The system includes a portable optical image previewer, and a portable image processor having adjustable controls for editing, combining, and otherwise processing the recorded electronic images being optically displayed on the screen of the previewer. The camera, previewer, and processor are provided as separate modular components that can be detachably interconnected together. A dual electronic camera is also provided that concurrently exposes a conventional photographic film, that supplies exposed film frames corresponding to each of the electronic images. The recorded electronic images are visually previewable, prior to developing the film, to both select those frames to be printed and to adjustably control the parameters of developing and printing the photo film.

  • Patent number: 4745040
Abstract: A dry electronic method of developing a latent image from exposed conventional photographic film. The film is exposed to a laser light beam having low intensity time-intensity energy integral that is sufficient to raise the energy level in the light sensitive crystals in the film to a condition of energy saturation. The image is extracted by detecting and recording the quanta of energy absorbed by the crystals at each incremental area of the image.

  • Patent number: 4716470
Abstract: A method of proofing or previewing and image of an object on an exposed but undeveloped photographic film by substantially concurrently exposing and recording an electronic image of the same object, and visually displaying the electronically recorded image. Additional steps of the method may include recording instructions pertaining to the recorded image for use in initially determining whether to process the film, or for use in changing the parameters of the film processing or editing the photographic image.

  • Patent number: 4714962
Abstract: A dual electronic camera that substantially concurrently exposes a conventional photographic film and an electro-optical sensor and memory, to provide both corresponding electronically recorded still images and photographic latent images of objects. An optical previewer is provided to view the electronic images prior to developing the film, for "proofing" purposes to select those to be developed and printed, as well as to control the parameters of developing and printing of the film. A recorder is provided for recording instructions concerning processing or editing of each of the frames during optical previewing. The instructions may be recorded on the photographic film, or on a separate memory or recorder. The recorded instructions are read-out during processing and/or printing of the photographic film to control the parameters of processing or for editing the individual frames being printed.

  • Patent number: 4588282
Abstract: A multiplexing electrostatic copier system employing one or more detachable, portable optical reader units, each including a "memory" or recorder, that may be readily carried about by a user for temporarily recording a "video" image of a printed document or other object to be copied or reproduced. For reproducing the recorded video image, the portable units are selectively connectable to an electrostatic copy making machine at the convenience of the users to transfer the remembered or recorded "video" images to the copy machine for reproducing the stored images and preparing a hard copy of the original document, e.g. a printed copy document on paper. The copier machine may also provide an advanced visual display of each of the transferred "video" images, enabling the users to initially observe the images before the hard copies are made.

  • Patent number: 4548510
Abstract: An electronic time scheduler for entering and storing in a memory a plurality of daily schedules of events and appointments, and selectively reading out the daily schedule for any day or any daily subschedule of different times-of-day when no events or appointments have been previously made, or reading out both the daily schedule and subschedule together. Communicating of the schedules or subschedules that are read out can be by any one or more of a visual display on a screen, a printed record, or an audible annunciation. Where both the daily schedule and subschedule are read out together, either can be distinguished from the other by visually flashing or matrixing the displays, or even if one or the other of the schedule or subschedule is read out alone, it can be emphasized by a flashing display or a matrix of dots or otherwise to better attract the user's attention.

  • Patent number: 4336524
Abstract: A fully automatic pager system wherein a transmitter station automatically sends out an identifying address code to activate a selected pager receiver in response to a telephone call from a calling party who dials the normal telephone number of the party to be reached. The transmitter station also automatically sends out a message code to the activated receiver in response to a number message subsequently dialed by the calling party. The transmitter station automatically responds to the dialed identifying message and the dialed message from the caller to locate the identify code and the message code to be transmitted that have been previously stored in a memory. At the receiver is provided a memory having a series of pre-stored limited content messages, each of which is selectively retrievable upon the receipt of a message code corresponding to the address of that message in the memory.

  • Patent number: 4236813
Abstract: A multiplexed electrostatic copier having plural separated scan stations for randomly receiving and scanning documents to be copied, and a common developing mechanism for electrostatically making copies of the scanned images, and identifying and delivering the copies to the proper user. Provision is made for sequential operation by the different scan stations providing on-line operation of the first operated scan station and time delayed operation of the others to effectuate the multiplexing by the common developing mechanism without a memory of the images.

  • Patent number: 4172969
Abstract: A fully automatic communication system employing an automatic telephone answering device and a mobile radio transmitter and receiver for enabling a party calling another on the telephone to communicate to the mobile location of the other in "real time" that the call is being made and to relay the telephone number of the calling party. This enables the party being called to directly "telephone" back to the calling party without the need for first communicating with the telephone answering device. In a more enhanced form, the system further permits the mobile party being called to acknowledge the reception of the call by transmitting an acknowledgment signal back to the telephone answering device to, in turn, notify the calling party that his call and calling number has been received by the party being called.

  • Patent number: 4162610
Abstract: An electronic schedule calendar and diary for storing in an electronic memory a plurality of future calendar appointments and events for each of a plurality of daily, weekly, or other date interval periods, and enabling the selective retrieval and electronic display of said plural appointments and events for any selected time period. The electronic diary employs manually or remotely controlled entry of said future appointments and events in digital form; manually or remotely controlled correction and updating of said data; and manually controlled retrieval or readout into a visual electronic display. A time-of-day electronic clock may also be included together with an automatic alarm for providing an alarm for each selected appointment or event entered into the memory. In a systems version, a plurality of electronic diaries are employed with a central memory or monitor. Each diary is selectively placed in communication with the central memory for transfer of data therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4157182
Abstract: A target game or practice device using a movable beam from a light projector (e.g. gun) and a target that releasably carries one or more preplaced target objects. The target objects are selectively released from the target and fall when struck by the light beam projected by the gun. In a preferred construction, the target objects are held to a target board by the force of electrostatic attraction, and the electrostatic charge is selectively dissipated by a photoconductor that is rendered more conductive when illuminated by the projector light beam. In other embodiments the target objects or support contains a light producing or scintillating material that regenerates light when struck by the projector light beam.
